Brilliant performance -closed them down played high line, high energy all the game. Played AS A TEAM, playing for each other. Defo - MOTM Capoue, best Ive seen him since I can’t remember when. Mapps excellent. What confidence this will give us. Bring on Wet Spam. Time for another celebratory drink.
Feels like a completely different side to that under Silva. Outstanding performance both as a team and by many individuals. Thought the red was harsh but before that we were still completely on top. The 3 points are so precious but what this could do to the confidence of the team might be the most valuable takeaway. This shows that team CAN still play at the level seen previously. Honestly when Hazard drew level I thought we'd go on to lose it but no, we go on and smash 3 very very very nice goals. The build up play to Janmaats was world-class.
Some good news finally... We had this many points after 26 games in 84/85 under GT and didn't get relegated!
Typical boring Gracia, grinding out a win against the big boys. I honestly can't remember a better performance this season. From start to finish, from front to back we were brilliant. 8 and 9 out of tens all over the pitch. Expect all the talk will be about Chelsea in crisis, but we know better. We have to use this going forward. Massive for confidence and spirit, the qualities that will see us climb clear of trouble.
That was all big Javi. The Capoue whisperer! To a man they were fantastic, so proud of the lads tonight.
Don't blame them. It's complete nonsense from him. Clear penalty. Gerard doesn't even leave his leg in - Courtois just collides with him completely out of control.
There must be some posters feeling very happy, but pretty silly, tonight. #166 and #167 in particular. 0-5 and 0-9.
Has anyone else thought where we might be if we took Everton’s £15m and took Javi, way back when? Anyway there seems to be a buzz, spirit and energy about the place. Here’s to looking up rather than down.
Genuinely cannot believe what I have just witnessed. I ain't going to post properly just yet as I am too jubilant.
Capoue Man of the Match for me by a mile. It was like someone flicked a switch and turned on the player he could've been all this time. He won seven tackles, played a couple of perfectly weighted through balls but most of all, he stayed switched on the whole game. He was repeatedly blocking off passing routes through to Hazard, they couldn't get it into his feet at all in the first half.
4 points from six. Trust the pozzos. Laughing Laughing as I walk the dog Hhaaaaaaahhgahaha Bye bye conte In this moment it is normal to be sacked
Should have killed them off before Hazard's goal, but who gives a ****. 4-1 what was the odds on that
Perhaps our best league result ever? 4-1 against the champions. Loved the pace, skill and power of Delofeu and Richarlison combined with the more agricultural talents of Deeney. Yin and yang!
Not bad at all, but still plenty of work to do. Don't get over excited like you usually do & just remember you support Watford & that result was typical.
Fair enough comment earlier that Deeney should have been subbed before their goal. But he created the space for our 2nd and 3rd goals with a couple of diagonal runs. That is what a good forward does. Scored a pen, and was invaluable for two goals. Brilliant.
Haven't been on in a while due to work, but thought I'd pop back for this. https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/fo...nd-nathaniel-chalobah-as-he-a3597241.html?amp Heh EDIT: And also because Marco Silva made me resent football.
