This game, without doubt, is the Argos game of the season. Many more than 100 eyes will be watching. '10th but glum' is how I feel at the moment. No signings thus far; an early signing of note would have been a fillip. It hasn't happened. Prediction: 3 - 1 Either way...
Win it and people will be saying we ve won 3 of our last 4 in all competitions. Lose it and people will be saying we ve only won 1 league game in the past 10. Big game, to say the least.
Gabbiadini starts 5-3 them Gabbiadini on at half time 4-3 them Gabbiadini on at 70 mins 3-3 Gabbiadini on at 80 mins 3-2 us Gabbiadini on at 90 mins 3-1 us Gabbiadini doesn't play 3-0 us
Question is was the win over a very depleted Bristol side a confidence boost? It’s almost half way through January already and guess who has the same squad? We really need to win this but are just as capable of losing too. A repeat of last seasons game is unlikely but you never know. Defence is still are Achilles heel and although we are all “Over Joyed” with one of are boys signing a new contract we need new blood and time is already running out.
I'm confident that our team of journeymen, charlatans and chubsters will beat them. We will then sell Doucoure while giving Deeney, Capoue and Janmaat new contracts. Its the Watford way.
I believe this game is very significant for both teams. On paper Southampton have a decent side, certainly a lot better than 20 points. If we lose, the pressure will be massive on Silva. I can’t see us getting much at Leicester the following week, then it’s Stoke with their new manager, possibly Flores. We need to start picking up points now. This bad run we’re on has to end or it looks very bleak for the club. I have a lot of faith in the owners but the club looks to be in a bit of a mess right now. Although a good win on Saturday would be massive for confidence and for the belief of supporters.
A must not lose game but clearly a win will make things look a lot better. Southampton are a decent side but the league table doesn’t lie and they are struggling for goals. It will be close but hopefully we can get the win and start pushing on again. Disappointing that we haven’t signed anybody and none of the injuries have cleared up but it’s time to roll up our sleeves and give GT one final send off with a win. Not going as off to the darts but will still wear my Watford scarf if I can find it.
**** me, the club is in a mess now?? You do love a drama don't you. We're in the best hands we've ever been in! And as for the football, we are exactly where we should be right now, a mid-table side with the odd **** run of form.
Must not lose. The Saints fans really haven't warmed to Pellegrino but they have some very able players. Trying not to think about this until I get to W Herts and then the ground.
After this Saints are at home to Spurs, then they play us in the cup before a mid-week game at home to Brighton. If we can win tomorrow and they then lose to Spurs (which they will) they're sure to play the stiffs against us in the 4th round. So not only is tomorrow huge in terms of our league status but a positive result will ease our progress in the Cup. Come on you Golden Boys!!!
I've just read GT's autobiography. In it he mentions that part of his reason for leaving first time round was that he felt supporters had become less enthusiastic about the club's achievements. Thankfully there was no social media in those days so he didn't have to read the tripe some people rush to post every time we don't win a match. I'm sure he would have buggered off sooner than he did if there was.
3-1 watford. Would be nice to see some of the injured starting to return. Any chance Hughes could be on the bench for this one?
I doubt it but I'm sure all will be revealed in Marco's press conference today. Unless he says he has no idea like last time....
We are desperately in need of a win to stop the rot setting in. If we do not start picking up points soon, we're going to be in danger of relegation. I can't see us picking up many points unless we change something ASAP. If we keep losing, I want the manager to go. If we start picking up points, I will support the manager. A win will make the fans more confident about the clubs fortunes. If we lose and drop further down the table, I will say I told you so. However, if we win, we will have changed something, and then I will also say that I told you so. You can persecute me all you like, but my predictions on this forum are always right.
So if you think 10 defeats from 14 games signifies, all is well, then I hate to think what you would consider a bad run.
I am pleased Southampton have not yet sacked their manager. I have a feeling that their players and the fans are not that keen on him and I feel that a Watford win will see him getting the chop. It is a must win game for us.
The ideal scenario would be that they make John Barnes their manager. Then they'd lose both and tie up a relegation spot.
Agree with this. A win isn't vital. But we must not lose. A draw and we are 6 points/2 wins from relegation with a good gd. Stoke must pull off a miracle to beat manu. Bournemouth have Arsenal. Any point at all will be vital this weekend.
Are you HB2? and did you really log back in 1 minute after posting as HB1? PS If your predictions are "always right" could you please tell me the exact score of the game tomorrow.. time of first goal and name of scorer. Only i'm in need of a post Xmas cash boost. Thanks in advance
and a great go it was. You convince me.. and him! Hey maybe that could be an idea for a forum game. Post in the manner of another member and see if we can guess the impression.
