This forum is in the most part full of your a-typical reactionary morons. As I have said previously most only love the team, & the manager, from week to week depending on the result. A penalty was missed, can happen to any player. Support Cleverly, as you may have forgotten you were loving him only a few short weeks ago.
If there's one game that people should be allowed to moan and swear and slag off everyone and everything it is that ******* game.
Carillo is utter ****. I've been aware of this for a while. I'm inviting others to get in in the boo train now before it becomes crowded.
Didn't write him off, merely said I wasn't optimistic and that I didn't think he was ready and that we shall see today. I don't see him train every day do I.
This is quite honestly it for Watford fans. Mid table at best in this league whilst not giving a **** about the cups. I said after Stoke that we could quite possibly lose 7 in a row. Nearly half way there.
I haven't posted for ages but even I need to let off some steam today. Everton were completely and utterly beaten at 2-0, all that was left to do were the basics. Their first goal was awful by Holebas positionally, so so so so so poor to not cover that basic run, then awful again as he looked at Karnezis instead of clearing, then it was awful from Karnezis to come for a ball he should never ever ever be coming for, then awful again from him to not stop and recognise his mistake, then awful again from Holebas to miss the ball. Awful from Karnezis for the loopy corner into the 6 yard box, then once again awful to once again concede from the corner, like I said, from a loopy, average delivery. Then ******* awful from Holebas again to clumsily bring Lennon down. Cleverley missing the pen was just the icing on the cake. You'd have gotten odds of 1000s to 1 or more for all that to happen. Anybody, literally anybody could've seen that game out, to ******* LOSE it?!?!??! Lost for words, it's put me off going for at least a couple of months, never been so angry
I think everyone respects Cleverly and the hard work that he is doing. We are all just pissed off because we can see how much more of a team we are than Everton. Always hard to take when you are 2-0 up. Subs made an impact for Everton, fair play.
I really, really wish we had a left back that can actually defend, it would make a hell of a difference to our defence. Nevertheless at worst we really should have had a draw out of that game, missing the penalty was a real blow.
I can't find any positives in final half hour of that match - cruising to a comfortable win and then........ Yep the injuries didn't help, but this is one of the worst Everton teams in years. And we still had a glorious chance to salvage something, yet failed. Maybe Troy's more important than a lot of people think? When we're good, we're good - but my god when we're bad, we really do stink the place out (final half hour - up until then we did all that was asked of an away side). Starting to look like our strongest 11 can give anyone a game, but gradually take out significant players (Pereyra, Chalobah, Prodl, Gomes etc), and we become a very weak team. So angry, pissed off and deflated that even those stupid dancing men in my sig have had to be immediately binned
If my aim was to just to stay up like the last two seasons it wouldn't hurt, but 7th and Eurpoa League football is there for the taking this season. Just sitting here ******* stewing now. We need to spend big on a centre-back and they need to stop ******* getting injured every other week too.
Strikers aren't necessarily the best penalty takers. They hit their shots when ball is moving, not a dead ball. Presumably Clev best pen taker in training
Normally I only comment on the matches I attend. Three points from the match:- (1) Gomes is more important to the team than many on here give him credit for. (2) Deeney's reputation for scoring penalties is also enhanced. If £40 million of forwards in Gray, Richarlison and Okaka are not considered up for the task. (3) Watford play better football this year than in either of their previous seasons in the Premier League.
Speechless really, thought we played really well and once again played some lovely football, but heads dropped as soon as they got a goal back. We really need to wise up and start managing the game better when we're in the lead. I think Gomes and Kabasele going off really upset the balance of the team, and with a defence already plagued with injuries, it was always going to end in tears. Hopefully Kabasele and Gomes will be alright, and Prodl and Peyera are fit after the international break. Thought Hughes was great, despite the miss, Cleverley played well and happy to admit I might be wrong about Gray. Thank **** we picked up points before this, and for once, the international break is welcomed!
Hughes looked good. Kiko looked good. First half was dull an a bit of a non event, but we weren't using the width, so everything was bouncing between Doucs/Cleverley/Hughes. Second half, the Doucs and Cleverley couldn't be found at all when we went wide, they didn't sit and protect or anything. Holebas is a liability, for every good cross there's a defensive error which gets us found out. Don't massively blame OK for the second goal, as the Everton man goes and stands directly on him, and we give no protection to him whatsoever, as well as Calvert-Lewin being unmarked. The defence lost their faith in the keeper when Gomes went off, an it showe. The move to get our pen was actually really good, it's just we shouldn't have had to have had it, we should've scored from open play. Don't quite know what to think.
I can't believe that. Gray has scored a bunch of pens. Cleverley has clearly never taken one in his life.
The boys did great, considering we were down to 10 men for the entire match. You've sometimes got to put your hands up after a phenomenal performance by one of the opposition. And Holebas was absolutely fantastic for them. Releasing Everton through on goal for their first, tumbling over to win Everton their winning penalty and so often finding a blue shirt. Everton will not have a better performance for them this season. *** Cleverley. What on earth was he doing, taking that. You could tell from his flat, slow and unconfident run up that he was going to miss. It was an absolutely shocking penalty. One of the worst I've ever seen. If he was my racehorse, I'd take him out back and put him out of his misery. To make it worse, that penalty cost me just shy of £100. I don't care how well he's played at times this season, Cleverley is absolutely dead to me. That was ****ing unforgivable. Silva really needs to sort out his defensive set plays. Every match we gift the opposition a point blank free header. I've never seen so many absolute gifts through awful defending at set pieces, it's ridiculous. Statistically, scoring goals from corners is extremely unlikely, yet we continue to concede one every match. In this league, doing that week in week out is going to put you in severe danger of going down to dross teams, let alone clinical ones. Speaking of, Everton were pretty awful. Yes they played with a lot of heart, but clearly their manager is limited, and they won't be able to play with such passion through the season nor get so much good fortune. In terms of their position in the long run, I'm not sure this result will help them. They need a better manager ASAP. What an awful evening. I'm almost glad there's an international break, so I don't feel obliged to watch football for a few weeks and don't have to go through such an absolute **** storm again anytime soon.
Reality check. Bad loss but have to remember we're only 11 games into Silva's reign. Injuries costing us hugely again too.
Been going for 35 years. Not sure I can remember a game tha5 was so obviously ove4 as that. How can we have a 2nd goalkeeper who thinks he is a centre forward? How can we pay 18.5m for a player who shirks a penalty. If Gomes is not fit for next game we will lose
Because Gray is ****. Richarlison should have taken it in the absence of Deeney. Really it was Deeney's total lack of discipline last week that cost us a point.
Our defending has been total garbage all season 21 goals against, 5th worst in the league, capitulates when put under pressure, today really wasn't a surprise To quote our idiotic captain - this team has no cajones
A 27K+ bedroom dweller, who posts morning noon & night calling someone else names! Apologies for the typo. Thought you said you blocked me the other day?
We are seeing the weakness of our squad. Each injury makes us slightly more average and as a result, our underlying weaknesses are becoming more apparent. The ******* corner situation on its own is grounds for sacking Silva though. There, I said it. Sack him. Sack the stubborn **** unless he ******* coaches us to clear a corner every now and again.
We were the masters of scoring late goals at the beginning of the season. Now we're the masters conceding them... A taste of our own medicine
plus Okaka showed enough in the last 10 min to show that Silver needs a damn good reason for why he has been in the cold for so long.
Gray can **** off. An £18m striker not stepping up for a last minute penalty is a telltale sign of a bottlejob for me. Baffling collapse, not good enough, Silva got it wrong again tonight. Okaka has to be coming on a good 10-15 minutes earlier. Absolute bottlejob tonight.
