Do none of you lazy ***** do write ups anymore? Everton are a bit **** these days and should come at us a bit more than Stoke, so hopefully we'll find a way to pass the ball into the back of the net. The last Watford player to score against Everton (twice) was this hero - perhaps we'll see him return? Something something about Andy Gray being a **** Everton 1-4 Watford Okaka with all 4.
If I were the manager, I'd have Okaka to start. That being said, if I were the manager, I would have had Okaka to start all the other games as well. I don't know, I just rate him higher than Gray and Deeney. Everton aren't in particularly good form, and, despite pundits citing his being English, there is nothing to suggest that David Unsworth is the man for the job. However, we shouldn't treat Everton any differently because of this, and we must approach with caution and concentration. I do think both squads, on paper, have fantastic quality, but for the first time in a long time, I actually think our squad edges theirs. That all being said, I'm going to go for a draw here, and even that requires a bit of optimism on my part.
Also, as an interesting aside, this will be our third visit to Goodison Park since our return to the Premier League, and no manager will have been in either dugout more than once in those meetings. But, of course, it's only Watford who sack their managers all the time...
Yes. I'm sure at least half of the current EPL clubs have had more managers in the last 3 seasons than us.
I’m told Everton are actually motivated for the first time this season because Unsworth wants a job. Comfortable home win.
Joking aside I would take a draw in this one I think just to get a positive result to get us back on track before a winnable home game against West Ham.
We have never won at Everton-one draw and 9 losses, Can there be a better time to play the team that has had the second longest consecutive spell in the top division and is now in the relegation zone. On that logic I have purchased tickets and four of us will be driving up sunday lunchtime
According to other posters who shall be nameless Everton will perform way above current levels due to this factor. I consider it nonsense myself. If Everton do play well it will be because they are reverting to mean rather than Unsworth giving it the big one in the dressing room.
Can't see those players wanting Unsworth as their manager full time. Easy win for hornets with a similar display to Soton/Muff away .
Even more difficult to predict than usual: Poor record at Goodison. Club captain missing. 2 defeat bad run - confidence taken a knock? On the plus side, Everton: Nervy with crowd on their back. Poor defence, injuries, only scored 7 in 10. Uncertainty over manager. Do they really want Unsworth? We score earlyish - hold on for a good win. They score first - battle to even get a draw. As long as Silva fixes the piss poor zonal marking at corners I’m going for the 0-2 win. Rich and Carillo
Everton are there for the taking. So unstable at the moment. Unsworth in charge is a dream, he's useless, hence why the Everton board are interviewing other options. He wants the job but won't get it. Whoever does come in, will get rid of him to bring in their own personnel. They tried to get Nuno Espírito Santo from wolves this week and even he turned them down according to Sky. They also want Dyche or Allardyce apparently. Their defence is crap. So is their midfield and forward line. No better time to play them. Seriously outside of Pickford, Keane, Barkley and Sigurdsson who else would get into our starting 11? Rooney, no, Williams, no, Baines, no, Coleman, not over Femenia, Jagielka, maybe, Tom Davies, maybe (personally I rate him highley, I would have him in our team, don't know if anyone else would though), the rest of their team is average. Seriously not worried about Saturday. They have nothing to scare us with. If we lose it will be because of our own fault. They are crap, the table doesn't lie. They are not under achieving, they are where they deserve to be, contrary to the popular belief of their fans who think they are a top 7 side. They are not. They are another Newcastle waiting to happen. If we play like we have most games this season, (Liverpool, Bournemouth, Saints, Arsenal, Chelsea) and not like the one off game against Stoke, we will comfortably beat them. First goal will be key though. If they score first they will do a Stoke just to get points. If we score first, they have to come at us which will play perfectly into our hands. Going for a 3-1 win to us.
They are surprisingly poor after all the investment. We should go for it but maybe after the last two results our expectations are dampened slightly. Surprised it's not classed as a free hit game. I guess that shows how far they have fallen and how far we have risen!
Is this match on telly? Where are people drinking before? I think we'll lose 1-0. Sigurdsson wondergoal. We are toothless up front and it's going to start showing (unless our lord and saviour okaka plays, which he wont).
Our best formation hinges on having 3 composed midfielders. Capoue got out of position so often that Cleverley tried to fix it, pulling him out of position too and leading Carrillo deep and central. Femenia (and fair play for actually doing it) left trying to play full back, wing back and winger. It was a total loss of shape. Never thought I'd say it, but I'd prefer 3 centre backs over Capoue. I really thought he'd have learned by now but he was anonymous again. If Pereyra is fit (doubtful) then we'll win. Not just about the individual skill, more that he's a reliable outlet that gets the whole shape working. Sent from my G8141 using Tapatalk
I agree. Capoue makes us **** (and I'm a fan of his...) Having chalobah and pereyra out at the same time is quite crippling to our team. And we dont have a striker who can nick us a win. It's worrying. We dont even have Success to throw on for the last 10 minutes to shake things up anymore. Getting rid of zarate was a huge error imo.
We had Watson to shake things up. Unfortunately shook so much that everything collapsed. Sent from my G8141 using Tapatalk
Hopefully we won't have to endure Capoue as the most advanced of the three central midfielders. Silva's insistence that he can play there is reminiscent of Quique's that Amrabat was a striker.
Dull game - cannot see this even making it onto the schedule of Match of the day on Saturday night 0-0
I haven't got a spare seat, nor a spare ticket and the game's not until Sunday. Still willing to pick you up on Saturday though. Where are you taking us?
