great effort today but 3 injuries. Are we jinxed, have certain players come back too soon or are we still poor at conditioning. Can't afford many games like that from an injury standpoint. Janmart or Pereya were hardly touched
Literally praying Pereyra was taken off as a precaution. Again looked a class above the rest in terms of touch and ability until he went off. He'd be incredible in the number 10 role that Cleverley was completely lost in.
Sadly I think both he and Janmatt might indeed be made of glass! I fear their careers could be more or less finished as they don't seem to be able to string even two games together without getting injured! I think we might have to seek permenant replacements for both of them
Care to elaborate? Or are you just going to post hypocritical crap such as the above that makes no sense because you clearly have no idea what you're talking about and probably have as little respect for your opinions on this forum as anyone, myself included.
Redknapp and Carragher in their "Let's see if we can form a coherent sentence let alone an argument" session after the match were very complimentary about him.
Yes, he did cover a lot of ground, never question his work rate, but he didn't do the actual job you'd want from a player in that position. Some positions do actually require more than just work rate. His passing was very, very poor and he didn't offer anywhere near enough in attacking sense.
Absolutely correct. Can't fault his effort or dedication but he's 100% unsuited to the role, and it cost us.
He did get an assist to be fair and I don't think he was as bad as you're making him out to be. Not the best player for the position but he did it well enough.
We need to get some more defenders. It looked like Holebas, Britos and Yonnes were all struggling at the end
I just knew Janmaat would get injured - good job we've got a decent replacement. Just seems so strange we have our midfield rushing around looking super fit even at the end whereas our defence appear to be so brittle.
His player performance make up was far higher than opening price with sporting index purely because his pass completion rate was effective. I thought he did well.
. Janmaat yes but in what way does Pereyra look finished??? He's been unfortunate so far but his career so far shows no evidence of him being a crock. What a massive overreaction.
Still maybe Kaboul pulling something (fair play to him for soldiering on BTW) means that Prodl may start next week. Anyone know if he had a slight knock or anything because he would be the first defender on the team sheet for me? Really hope Pereya is something very minor, quality. If not then maybe Hughes will get nearer to the pitch, few bits I have seen of him so far makes me think he is probably the next most creative we have.
As disappointed as I was to see Janmatt go off as I really rate him, I was equally enthused that his replacement got a chance. Feminia has had a great pre season and again looked so comfortable on the ball today. Looks like he has so much quality and composure and stands out as a key player. I think on another thread I put Chalobah as signing of the summer and he had an awesome game today, but I equally think Feminia is the absolute steal of the pre season and will also be one of the signings of the summer.
Only one chasing down the time wasting *****bad Karius when a fresh Gray should have been doing so. Will let gray off this once as was his first 20 minutes but still.

Agreed. Maybe lacked a bit of quality on the ball compared to Hughes or Pereyra, but against a team like Liverpool the work rate he offered in that area was immeasurable. Made tackles, didn't allow them to settle and always made himself available
What's this about Kabul injured? Every cloud. Just need Amrabat to have a career ending injury and it will balance out losing Pereyra
I know what everyone says about Amrabat's output and I don't disagree but he is in the team and matchday squad ahead of others for reasons. First half particularly his defensive play, willingness to stay in position (shape of the team) and link up play were good. He would have been subbed for Richarlison had we not had those injuries and that was crucial as we lost balance on our left after Pereyra went off.
Cleverly wasn't playing a creative number 10 role. He was man marking Henderson to stop him starting moves from deep and driving Liverpool up the pitch. And in the end, it was quite successful
