Do we have a match this weekend? Yes we do, it kicks off at 12pm on Sunday. That's a silly time, is the match on TV? Yes it's on BTSport in the UK, our opponents are in the Europa Cuppy Leaguey thingy on Thursday. So much for Brexit, so who are we playing? We are home to Manchester United. Never heard of them, are they any good? Since football history began, incidentally on 25th April 2015 when we earned promotion, they won the FA Cup and finished in 5th place in the league. They've started off the season well with 3 out of 3 but then lost their fourth match to Manchester City. There's no shame in losing to one of the best teams in the division, have they got any players to watch? Yes, they have a Swedish striker called Zlatan Ibrahimovic, he seems to knock a few goals in when it counts. He doesn't sound very Swedish to me, has he settled in to the Swedish delights in the UK? The nearest Ikea to Manchester is here, and I have no idea whether he's tried it on with Ulrika Johnson yet. What about the manager, Ferguson must be knocking on a bit now? Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013. OK so who took over? David Moyes did, but didn't do very well by their standards, so they appointed Louis Van Gaal, he didn't do very well either, just winning the FA Cup. 5th and the FA Cup, that's sounds terrible. How did the club react to such a calamitous season? They brought in some bloke called Jose Mourinho. I've heard of him, he's the Chelsea manager. Did they merge the two clubs in order to compete the footballing powerhouse that is Leicester? Yes. Enough about them, what about us? Having picked up our first win of the season on Saturday, we can go into this game with a bit more confidence. The argument about formation rages on, however given our tough opening fixtures and the fact the 3-5-2 doesn't work particularly well against the best teams in the division I would be expecting Mazzarri to start with 4 at the back; I don't think that we can afford to give them a head start. That's sounds all very well, but can you put any of this into a nice graphic? Certainly... Thanks for clearing that up, now what about the odds for this match? If you hadn't have kept asking questions I would have done a vBookie event by now, it will appear shortly! Before I go, is Manchester known for its architecture I thought you'd never ask, enjoy...
I'm in high spirits following the West Ham game. I'd have bitten your hand off for 4 points from the first 5 fixtures so this game really is a free hit in my eyes. Hope we go at them as I still think they are vulnerable and our attacking players can cause them problems.
Great write up! Just scrap the terrible 3-5-2 and go for something more positive - it's worked in the 2nd half against Arsenal and it worked after we made a change after the 2nd goal.
Ive never liked 352. Too many midfielders for my liking and wingbacks is never a thing I see working - defender/winger bad idea. Their stadium that otter has pictured looks a good one.
I agree their stadium looks great but my God how big are the cars in Manchester? If that`s anything to go by we are in for a hiding.
Btw I was going to give you a Like Otter for the early write-up but your graphical graphic of our formation has one of our players in their goal.
The bit about Ikea is rubbish too. I know for a fact there is one in Derby and I`m almost certain that is closer to Manchester than Watford. You have just rushed this really to get it out early but better to take a day or two longer and get it right. Hope you have learned from this as l am sure you have.
This. The one thing which has me excited is that win or lose, we will be 100% giving it a go and we'll have some fun doing it.
I don't get who this Holebas guy is? We have a player called Cholevas, or something like that, but that's seems to be the closest I can see in the squad
Don't understand why "3-5-2 doesn't work" would be trotted out when we just won away at West Ham playing that formation for 90 minutes. We have the players to fit the system and the more they play it the better they'll get at it.
Manu will be out for blood after last week's loss. Therefore I can see this being an absolute trouncing of the hornets. Or at least a marginal away win. That being said, a draw is a definite possibility. And A Watford win wouldn't surprise me in the least. 4-0 Watford.
If anyone thinks we are going to beat the mighty Man U then they need their head examined. Heavy defeat and major injuries to everyone including Harry The Hornet, Shaun Mamurray and Sir Chris Froom.
Result comes down to whether the Reds try to 'mug us off', something the cat just tried on me when I came home. Claimed it hadn't been fed which I found disrespectful.
My mate's a season ticket holder there so I've managed to get tickets in the home end for this one. Reckon Pogba will get off the mark and Zlatan should have some fun against their defence. 3-0 United.
Have a word with Walter would you. He seems to be confused with what he was doing on Saturday http://www.90min.com/posts/3759023-...emely-important-first-win-of-watford-s-season
I'm chalking that up to a mistranslation. I was there and while players may have had different roles/freedoms second half it was definitely a 3-5-2. I'm stubbornly sticking to that no matter what quotes I see.
Who were the front 3 then? And who were the fullbacks? Assuming Janmaat and Holebas then does that mean 1 of Kaboul/Britos/Cathcart played CM? That just doesn't make any sense to me with the personnel we had on the pitch.
