Can't wait for him to finally sign and we can all wet ourselves with excitement. Then we'll turn on him after a slightly slow start and he'll be back at Genoa on loan by February.
The Hornets have completed the loan signing of Dániel Tőzsér, the Watford Observer understands. Tőzsér excelled during the second half of last season after joining the Golden Boys on loan from Genoa in January. Watford had initially hoped to sign the holding midfielder permanently but a loan deal has been agreed with new parent club Parma. It was confirmed at the weekend that Tőzsér had joined Parma from Genoa however the player posted a message on Instagram confirming he would not be playing for the Italian side next season. And we understand the loan agreement between Watford and Tőzsér was finalised today. The 29-year-old only missed one game after joining the Golden Boys, featuring for the full 90 minutes in his 20 outings, despite arriving at the club having not played competitively since May 2013. Tőzsér impressed during his first couple of months at Watford before his form dipped, with club staff suggesting tiredness was a contributing factor. The holding midfield role had been a problem position for Watford prior to the Hungarian international's arrival, after Jonathan Hogg and John Eustace left the club last summer with loanee George Thorne only a temporary solution.
according to himself he's signed for 2 years....is that 1 year loan the next perm or 2 year loan? odd.
Very bizarre sequence of events, but no complaints. 2 year loan with an option of a third year/making it permanent at the end. I can only assume that this generates some profit for Parma.
Just had some ham from Tescos and it was pretty average tbf, watery with very little flavour and the consistency left a lot to be desired. If I was Toszer I would ve stayed in Parma.
Interesting to see if we still try and sign Ambrosini/Diaz/Mejia. If so looks like Toszer will play further forward with AmenAbdi or we playing a 4 at the back with 2 central DMs.
All part of the 'arrangement' which sees Angella move to Parma before the window slams shut (Pure, unfounded guesswork)
I suspect we will try and bring in another holding midfielder. We've 'lost' Iriney, Diakite and Merkel who were brought in to cover and am not convinced Battochio can fill that role. He's more of a runaround-Hogg-kind-of-character.
Another piece of ingenious transfer dealing by the Pozzo's/Nani. So that's Vydra, Gomes, Cathcart, Tamas, Belkalem, Dyer all signed up.....with still more to come......added to the likes of Abdi, Forestieri, Angella, Anya, Ekstrand, Pudil, McGugan, Battocchio & Fabrinni....without spending a penny on transfer fees. I'm staggered how they constantly manage to do this. All we need now is for Paredes and Ambrosini to join the party and I'll reckon that will be job done.
Agree, but that was where he was played in his first couple of appearances, in the bad old days before Tozser.
