If someone offered to treble my wages for doing the same job for fewer hours I'd be off like a shot. Would be amazed if he stays. Also glad to see that he has wised up to how 5h1t social media is. Including this pit of despair.
I've just seen on that "font of all that is true" that he's just equalled his number of appearances in yellow with those of his time with Walsall. I wonder whether to read anything into the fact that he's scored 10 more goals for us (37 as opposed to 27) over a shorter period (3 years as opposed to 4) - is it a sign that "he's peaking" and it's time to sell?
You could argue that against Reading and Forest none of our players aside from Almunia and Fabbrini played well. I see no real difference in Troy's performance against Birmingham and against Forest at the weekend. In both games he was left fairly isolated, came up against strong, physical defenders and was left to effectively feed off scraps and rely primarily on the service of Fabbrini who can often fail to look up and be a tad selfish. The only difference between those two performances is that Troy took the solitary chance he had against Birmingham whereas he missed the one chance he had at the weekend. Had he scored that header there would be no debate or questions asked about him or his commitment just like there wasn't following the Birmingham game. I think we should wait for definitive statements before we judge Troy and what's going on in his head. Yes, the speculation may have affected him and messed with his head but that doesn't necessarily mean he wants to leave.
Completely agree with this. I will never understand those who think that the fact players earn so much money makes them somehow thicker skinned than the average person. Most of us would struggle to produce our best work if heckled about our work by even one person, never mind dozens or hundreds on social media. If I was a professional player, I'd stay well clear too.
Ah. That sound problematic if you like the over rated ugly faced brummie Lump it all on now is what I say
From a guy who's known his stuff in the past too. And they'll be in the Champions League, but surprisingly we'll accept a 5 million bid apparently.
makes no sense to let him go without a replacement proven goal scorer in the division. With Vydra already out and Deeney going as well I wouldn't be feeling as optimistic about this season.
I'm going away tomorrow until the 9th September. Don't know how much access if at all any i'll have to any Watford related news... but sincerely hoping Troy is still with us when I return!
Troy - If you're going to leave, for god's sake don't go to ****ing Celtic. That's a big step back when you could be playing premier league football with us next season.
So is this Celtic thing a joke? I'm in Glasgow at the moment and will happily go and head him off at the pass if he's coming up here.
Listening to Troy and Jon Marks last night it was pretty clear that Troy is not at all interested in going anywhere right now. He said he couldnt wait until the transfer window was closed and Jon confirmed that him and Troy were making plans to increase his media work for the club in the coming season. Troy also explained that rather than being upset at personal attacks/comments he was furious that some trolls had targetted his family on twitter. He said that personal attacks meant nothing to him but not being able to defend his family(ie falling foul of FA twitter rules) had left him frustrated. He was encouraged though by the numbers of people wanting him to keep up his social media stuff. He also paid tribute to the club for sticking by him when they could have told him not to come back after serving his time. I hope this thread will soon run out of steam!
I hope those who doubted Troy, his commitment and acted as if he had put in a transfer request were listening to Hornet Player last night. Maybe they'll think next time before they get too hysterical.
4M offer from Celtic was laughed out by the club from what I've heard. #NotITKbuthearstheoccasionalpiece #ITK
Deeney will stay. Everything coming from the club and player suggests this. With 3 full days of the window open they'd have no way to replace straight away either.
Celtic have just snapped up Finnish striker Teemu Pukki from Schalke so that should end any interest they had in Troy. Good move for Teemu to get more game time, he's probably Finlands best player. http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892/transfer-zone/2013/08/29/4222497/schalke-striker-pukki-set-to-join-celtic-in-21m-deal
Some guy on twitter called Franjo Puncec , sounds like he might be an agent, says that Watford accepted a 7 mill bid for Deeney from Hull but Troy turned it down to stay at Watford.
His agent will be saying - look what happened with Garry Hooper. Ended up at Norwich but scored for fun up there. DONT DO IT
