Pretty sure he'll be going off to Derby as for some reason, they've made him one of their big targets. I wouldn't say he was a big loss.
Now that Chalobah is gone, Forsyth can finally fill his potential as a quality, deep lying playmaker. Stick him up front.
http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...ract_negotiations_to_start_next_week/?ref=rss Bond and Doyley offered new contracts in may according to files submitted to football league. This may mean that almunia eustace and FH weren't? Presumably waiting to see what league we would be in.
Hall might be considered too injury prone to keep if we are able to get new defenders in and if Hoban/Nosworthy aren't too far away from fitness.
Bond Sorry if this has been posted or everyone knows but iv yet to see it, the Wobby says Bond will start contract talks next week and his agent says he wants to stay with us.
Well he says we are his first port of call, so could that mean he is open to offers from elsewhere, MM perhaps?
It means we're his first port of call, i.e it'd take us to reject him or for us to - in his eyes - offer him an unacceptable deal for him to go elsewhere. Basically he's 99.9% staying, which is excellent.
Staying is the best bet for him in my opinion. Being able to work with a player of almunias class there is so much to learn from him.
It's a bit odd to leave it so long, don't you think? Wasn't sure from WO if the delay was from the club or Bond?
If Almunia stays, Bond would be wise to stay. If Almunia goes and Watford sign an experienced keeper with a reasonable shelf-life, Bond would have to consider his position very carefully. Therefore, it makes sense for him not to commit himself too early.
Almunia- 2013 - another year, then Bond should be ready to step up Hodson- 2014 ****inson- 2014 Eustace- 2013 - probably goodbye, unless we are unable to strengthen in holding MF position. Hall- 2013 - Goodbye methinks, too injury prone IMO Hogg- 2014 Deeney- 2016 Forsyth- 2014 Doyley- 2013 - maybe not as 1st choice but is a very versatile squad member, new contract IMO Jenkins- 2014 Murray- 2017 Assombalonga- 2014 Smith- 2016 Thompson- 2014 Bond- 2013 - Sign him up and possibly gradually ease him in as 1st choice over the coming season. Hoban- 2017 Nosworthy- 2014 Forestieri- 2018 Mensah- 2016 O'Nien- 2014
Looks like Bond has signed a new contract as Filippo Girald just said on twitter ''Filippo Giraldi @Killerfil 3m Happy for Bond @bondy506''
Great news, not sure why its only 3 years when Murray and Smith got longer but maybe the Pozzos aren't willing to risk the long contracts now, or maybe Bond didnt want 5 years, either way its a good signing
You'd expect Hogg, Assombalonga, O'Nien and possibly Doyley and Almunia to get new contracts from that lot.
Almunia, Jenkins, Doyley, Hall, Nosworthy, Woods, O'Nien and Cassetti all running out. Doyley will probably get another year, O'Nien will probably get a few years. Almunia will if he wants them. Can see all the rest leaving
What about Woods, we only just got him didn't we? Unless we have a youngster ready to step up as 3rd choice, I would imagine he'll get another contract?
Woods was only offered a years contract but I see his future being decided on the outcome of Almunia. If Almunia leaves Woods will stay and we'll bring in another 3rd choice as Bond will step up.
Under 18s goalie is quite good but I guess after the Leeds game we would want to make sure we have 3 fairly experienced goalkeepers.
