I would love it if we did this during a match at Watford's ground. Being Italian owned would just make it 10x better Do you ever sing this? Do other teams in Serie A sing this?
Has to be said that Udinese is far from brilliant for support in the stadium... some say it is the stadium that is crap (I do agree and a new one should be build soon) some say that the Ultras are a little weak (in numbers and choice of songs) Tipical Udinese supporter (and I hate them) is around 40/50 yo seated in the Tribuna centrale or Distinti centrali; their scope is to put pressure on our own players if they do any mistakes (specially the young and new players) and generally being negative on everything that is happening in the pitch If stuff is going well they'll join the chant "Udine, Udine" with the Ultras I forgot that the Ultras form Udine keep on chanting against Napoli "we're not from Naples" when Di Natale IDOL was born there and another major chant is against the Carabinieri; I despise both
I am not so sure about the negative chanting, but other than that we have a similar type of support here at Watford!!!
Can an Italian fan explain to me De Rossi's one long-sleeve? I think it looks quite nice, but still why?
Udinese stadium is one of the most quiet in Italy; we got issues only with Napoli and Juventus but nothing major since couples of years
we hate Rubentus (also called rubbe from "rubare" = steal) besides all the knowned stories about scandals and bryberis of any kind, they even stole us the colours, originally their shirt was pink. We are the first bianconeri in italy founded in 1896 the second oldest team in italy, before us only Genoa 1893. as for Napoli I do not even want to talk a detestable president, an even more hateful coach, and above all the worst supporters ever. F..K them all!
They didn't steal your colours, they got the shirts for Notts county. An Englishman was playing for them and got his friend to supply the kit from Nottingham
true! we won many times a kind of fair-play award as best supporters in italy. This means we are correct, try to respect rules, and our stadium is a place where you can find families with kids, oldies, girls... the disatvantage is that we are not particularly colorfull or particularly loud. An interesting thing is that we always have supporters coming from austria and slovenia. It's nice to have a few pints before and after the match and see them mixing with us, speaking their language but wearing the black&white scarf.
Who are rubentus? Bianconeri - I take it this means your black and white stripes? Classic style - we like! We play in yellow, "yellow army!" As for Napoli, they offend you - they offend us brother! May they die a thousand deaths with rusty harpoons and their entrails pecked by syphilitic vultures
Yes, I know the story, but it could have been only an episode limited to that season, instead they then decided to continue using those colours dispite the fact that others have those before and that in our case they were the colors of our home town. the worst is that many of their supporters do believe that they are the first bianconeri in the country.
Seriously though: How much do Udinese sound like Watford? Family club, punching above weight, surviving by selling young talent to bigger clubs, friendly, decent... Even if it doesn't go through we should keep in touch
definitely! I've always like english football but never had a favorite team. Now I've found mine with a very good reason behind.
well they are taking now the liberty to show off 30 stars... although they have been officialy recognize only 28 championships (and even those are too much according to zeman )
by the way do you know that Udinese won the very first championship in 1896 (by that time it was only a tournament), but it is not officialy recognized becuase the italian football federation was founded only 2 years later?
It could be some of the reason why the Pozzo familiy are interested. We have a reputation for all of those things in this country and maybe that's why they were attracted to us. I have found myself an Italian team to support as well
I used to like Palermo, just because they were the only team I know of that played in pink. Udinese are now my Italian team of choice! Pink? Pah!
Udinese are without a shadow of a doubt, my second team now. Granada following in a close third. It's pretty amazing, even if this fails, I'll be following these plucky underdogs regardless.
Do you get any coming from Croatia? I can speak some Croatian but no Italian. Do Udinese fans use flares in the crowd? What's the law in Italy on them? That's something I'd love to see at Watford.
Even better. One red, one yellow and one black flare spaced out across the rookery. The green team spontaneuosly combusting would just add to the display.
Out of topic There should be some Croatian as well but I don't know if they have an official supporting group I know that Benetton Rugby (Treviso not too far from Udine) have an official supporting group in Croatia By the way what is the relationship between Watford and Saracens? I do follow rugby as well and there could be some exchange as well (read pints)
Saracens have rented the stadium for the past 14(?) years. They are planning on moving out in the next year to their own stadium in North London but keep having problems with planning etc. It started off as a good deal for Watford but over the years the supporters have wanted them to leave. This is mainly down to the state of the pitch and the fact the amount of rent has been the same every year since the deal started. On the up side we get decent a decent bar in the home end which I think is the result of having a rugby club play there!
Saracens looks like they have plenty of money to invest in Rugby It is really strange from an Italian point of view to see a wealthy rugby club sharing pitch with a football team that need funding; impossible to happen in Italy Anyway I agree and they should f**k off and play in their stadium
