Same but at 12. No lectures or seminars on a friday.

Met a nice girl in one of my seminars the other day, talked lots had lots in common she lives with my old flatmate and after we walked together to the bookshop and things and i add her on fb and it turns out shes got a bf. Led me on like a kipper!

On thursday though I met another girl, a nice welsh petite cute one who does volunteering and things and ive added her on fb and knowing my luck she'll be taken but worth a try.

Have you popped your cherry yet? Just wondering, as I've not been reading your posts recently.

Getting led on is the worst. I've had a recent experience of it, and trust me, it sucks.

Agreed, girls know they can flaunt it because a bloke will go for them. As long as you don't invest too much effort into the pursuit it won't hurt as much.

  11. simms

    simms vBookie

    Of course not.
Indeed. Even though I just met her and knew her for less then 2 hours it still sucks.
It wasn't even as if she knew, it's unwittingly which in many ways makes it worse because you have less of a valid reason to hate them.

Still waiting for this new girl to add me because you cant see the relationship status untill they're a friend. From the limited number of photos you can see there arent many where shes stood next to the same guy so its unlikely she has a bf if there arent many pics of them together. That's a reasonable thought right?

Whenever I tend to meet a girl in lecture or seminar i latch onto them and invest too much because girls are one of the few things that make me happy.

Ok so that girl added me back. Shes single and not a lesbian...

Now what? How do i start fb convos with her without it seeming weird? What topic does one start on?

When you've truly matured you'll realize that girls will be one of the few things that make you miserable. :)

Wise words. You'll only be truly happy when you leave the missus at home and spend the day drinking with your mates.

    haha true points.

i do business at college, means i can do a few things at uni.

you're chasing something that will make you happy in the short run but inevitably farking miserable in the long run. its like taking crack, you'll feel good today but ****ed after

  22. simms

    simms vBookie

Do you mean one of a multitude of things that make me miserable?
I can't conceive of that. I cant imagine ever being happier going out with mates then I would be at home with a girlfriend.
Theres a very good reason why so many people are crack addicts though. I'd rather break the misery cycle temporarily then remain pesimistic permanently.

Cool my flatmate does business and management.

One of the best sports places in the UK I think, especially for rugby. They've got 3 dedicated uni gyms and huge sports halls and every sports society you can think of, and state of the art training facilities and pitches etc.
Im yet to be offered it.

At the risk of ridicule, as I have difficulty in believing that Simms is for real? However, assuming he is, I really do not think people should be encouraging this lad to try hard drugs, because he is so unworldly and naive he might just do it!!!

Simms what societies are you part of at uni?

Try not to think about this girl all the time. If something comes of it, then great. If it doesn't, then all this thinking will only make it more painful when nothing comes of it. If you're part of societies then keep going to the meet ups and meet new people. If you're not part of any society, then join a few now and meeting people (especially girls) will come a lot easier.

I really don't think people should be advising him to try drugs either, but like you say, some days I genuinely wonder whether Simms' account is just a wind up.

  27. simms

    simms vBookie

I am real. Are you coming to cardiff away? Come for a chat if you want before the game or something.
I'm not part of any. I was last year but I didn't enjoy it enough to justify it again this year. The philosophy society all they do is organize nights out and the same people go every time, to the mainstream clubs. I don't enjoy nights out unless I go to clubs where I like the music otherwise it just seems pointless. The people who run it are very cliquey. I was also in the pool society last year and again it was very cliquey and the people werent the sort of people id hang out with outside of the club.

It's not a conscious choice. I started messaging her and the one with the bf just now on fb and she went offline randomly mid convo and the one with the bf randomly stopped messaging me back. There goes another day swallowed up in a veil of misery.

Simms - that's your problem. You say you want to meet girls, but you also say that your problem is you don't know how. Societies at university are the way forward! They are an incredible gateway to meeting so many people.

Regarding the pool society, of course you're not going to have any fun there!!! How many girls were there in that society? Sausage fest? Of course it was. Besides, I know the type that is part of that society. They're no fun.

Join something fun and worthwhile like the ski and snowboard/snowsports society. Who cares if you never have the intention of skiing or boarding?

    1. Skiers and boarders are awesome people, give them a chance and you could have a lot of fun with them on a social.

    2. Give skiing/boarding a go anyway. You said yourself how much money you saved last year. It's time to spend a bit of that money and learn to have some fun at uni!

In my experience, girls at uni like guys who are part of a proper society. You will look like you belong to something and that's never a bad thing.

  31. simms

    simms vBookie

There were a few but they were ****s.

Here is a list of societies. Pick out ones you think I could do. http://groups.cardiffstudents.com/club_signup?group_type=1299 Hopefully you can see them. Unfortunately there isnt, but if there were some form of secular/humanist/athiest society I'd join.

  32. El distraído

    El distraído Johnny Foreigner

    Sorry, who were ****s? Snowsports?

That is a LOT of societies. My uni never had anything near that. I will have a look and get back to you.

EDIT: Breakdance society? That's brilliant. As if there is a breakdancing society.

Cooking society? Might be a lot of girls there.

Funky Arse Dancers Society?? Do you know what that is??

Spanish and Italian Society? They seem very welcoming. You don't have to be a native speaker or studying languages either. There could be some cracking international students there too. http://groups.cardiffstudents.com/spani****alian/about/

    Snowsports? http://groups.cardiffstudents.com/snowsports/about/

Surf club? Could be good. I've heard the sport is really fun.

Yoga club? Guaranteed hotties there. I see it's full though. Still, you could drop them an email so they put you on the waiting list.

Simms - how about this? http://www.cardiffstudentmedia.co.uk/xpressradio/ The Cardiff uni radio? That could be fun.

    Ohh I see.

Sorry, I didn't expect you to want to sign up. I just can't believe there is a breakdancing society, or a Funky Arse Dancers Society! Have you seen the latter in action?
