Thanks Krisvad. I see Lyngby took care of AC Horsens 4-1 today...nice!

A good win - first in 16 games. We're basically down and have been for a while so I think the boys are playing more freely now. We can still survive mathematically (8 points to safety with 12 to play for) but I don't think it will happen. The main thing for me is not finish rock-bottom and yesterdays win is a giant leap towards achieving that.

Then we'll take a season in the second tier to regroup... sound familiar ;)

Location is everything. Lyngby and the Galaxy are not very different except that the Galaxy are in LA, that has gotten Beckham's attention, and now every two-bit league in the world wants to play us.

As part of the BritWeek celebration at the game, some geezer will play this guitar then it will be raffled or auctioned or something. It's pretty shagadelic, but what I love is the LARS logo on it! That is HOT.

I love the Fender Telecaster. I have a Yamaha telecaster knock-off as I can't afford the real thing. I want to win that raffle (though I'd have to repaint the damned thing ;) )

Check this out...StubHub is a sort of legal ticket scalper, basically a company that buys tickets and resells them at 'market value'. They do it through a website so they are able to capture the transaction prices. Anyway, I obtained these statistics that are very interesting.

They show that based on all the Galaxy tickets that go through their hands the average ticket price has nearly tripled, while the volume of ticket sales has soared compared with 2007.

Check out this comparison of ticket prices for the first four games of 07 to the ticket prices for the first four games of 08.
    HOME GAME--------'07 COST-----'08 COST------VOLUME
    04/03 - Thurs.---------$26---------$55 ---------Up 450%.
    04/13 - Sun.-----------$28---------$51---------Up 60%
    04/19 - Sat.------------$18---------$46---------Up 2000%
    04/26 - Sat.------------$32---------$55---------Up 400%

I have on old old old US made telecaster that needs some repair work. The neck got warped, but I am looking forward to fixing it someday. It's wood brown and quite attractive.

I think it's great to see how much passion you guys over there have both for your team and the game itself. Whilst you might support in a different way to us over here, it's obvious the passion is there.

Fan's like you guys are more important to making the game more popular over there, not the moderately big named stars like Angel etc whom most people will never have heard about. If people see you guys enjoying yourselves and having a great laugh, i'm sure that'll be more convincing towards getting new fans through the gates than a couple of ageing stars.

There might not be all that many of you, and the fact it's in America (distances etc) mean you have to adopt a different sort of style to supporting, it's really refreshing to see how original you can be. When i'm in the States next summer, i'm definately going to sample some of the match day atmosphere at the Home Depot Centre, probably better than The Vic in all honesty seeing as the elements who wish to get drunk, sing and be rowdy get given their own area.

It was a nice one, too.
Here is a link to the foul. It captures Becks waving bye bye, but it didn't catch him blowing a kiss to Serioux on the way out.

    Bye Bye

Didn't look like a red to me, do you think the ref was influenced by the fact the challenge was on Becks, what with all the hype and his commercial value to the league in terms of ticket sales etc?

Great result though and i'm enjoying those match previews, keep em' comin' fitzy old sport.

I thought it was a fair red...but David should have gotten a yellow for his push. To be sure, there's definitely a bit of the "don't kill the golden goose" phenomena...

On the other hand, in last year's first G's vs FCD game, Kenny Cooper's leg was broken on a similar tackle. For sheezy.

I'd have given it a yellow personally, if tackles like that were reds over here, Paul Scholes would never play again, but obviously it depends on the referee.

It wasn't a nice tackle, but it didn't seem enough for a straight red.

Whats the world coming to when a country of Ice Hockey fans say Becks should be given a card for that push, you disappoint me fitz.

I am not a *****ing Canadian. Anyway, it wasn't the push, it was the kick from behind on the foot/calf that upturned Beckham. Serioux then said "Welcome, baby, welcome" which got Beckham up quick to get in his face. The best thing of all happened from then on. Instead of cheering whenever Beckham touched the ball, the home crowd started booing! That has not yet happened, and is a good sign... I want other teams to hate us, not cheer on our most famous player as we beat them.

Isaac is a good guy and friggin smart, too. Here is his preview of the KC game.
Between you and me, I can tell he didn't bone up on KC's renewed offense...I am of the opinion that we will lose but I am a negative Nelly...

FYI rumor has it that the very FIRST ENGLISH WFCFORUMS.COM member will attend the game this weekend...stay tuned. I am really looking forward to when these two worlds meet.

What's this .500 he's going on about? Damn you and your thirst for statistics to explain every single situation!

If there's one thing Beck's is good at, it's winding up the opposition fans/players and the more they hate him, the better he plays. In fact, it might be worth the riot squad boooooing him for a couple of games just to **** him off.

First English forum member eh? Damn, i was hoping to claim that title next year, guess i'll have to settle for best looking/dressed/hair (ask the_ivam) English forum member to attend a Galaxy match.

Stats = American fandom...it's inescapable. Soccer is usually respite from it all.

Becks on Serioux's red card and the altercation.

Also, FC Dallas' gaffer gets the hook after 5-1 loss.
Steve Morrow fired from FC Dallas.

It's tough to follow the Galaxy without hating the abomination known as Chivas USA. HEre's some background and a SOLID argument on why they should quit, rename themselves and move somewhere else.

This is a huge deal for us: an away game road trip most of us can go on...it's within the state, and the following day we will all be back in LA for the US World Cup Qualifier being held at the Home Depot Center. It's going to be painfully fun.

No! If you go at all, you are the coolest of the cool, and get the coveted badge of "LARS Traveller". To tell the truth, I haven't bought a beer for myself yet this whole season...people just treat you differently for traveling. Seriously.

To 'pay it back', I'll be bringing a giant cooler full of beer in the summer to give out, probably 4th of July weekend against the Chicago Fire. I will then be known thereafter as 'the guy who bought beer for everyone'. I can't lose.

Great stuff, count yourself lucky you have a fan base who don't seem to try and create some sort of divide withing ranks.

    I was WRONG...

    Parkhurst's was from midfield...

Etcheverry's was from midfield against the Fusion (5:59 into the video)...

BUT BECKHAM? DEEP WITHIN OUR HALF!!
Yes, it really happened...I saw it with my own eyes!
This is probably the longest goal in MLS history.

Galaxy win 3-1 over the KC Wizards...
