Sure someone has already posted this, just couldnt see it.. From BBc rumours section: Fulham striker Heidar Helguson could be returning to former club Watford. (The Times) I know its done the rounds quite a bit, and i'm sure thats its something alot of us would like to see. Heidar and Marlon.... I feel the longer these rumours continue the more likely there might be some truth in them. lets hope
All newspaper journo's must spend all day surfing messageboards of the various clubs to get their info
A rumour I heard today from not a known source was HH in with Marlon going to a prem club. Don't think there is anything in it, but who knows.
have to agree with Doug whilst chuckling at Jobby, Marlon and HH in prem next season...with us me hopes...Think we're a darn good bet this season. But also agree with the it'd be a step backwards...yep it would but i think it might be a good step backwards. And to be honest i'd rather see HH than a knackered ole Sheringham as some of the rumours have mentioned. It also gives us two superb strikers who could both play off of Hendo should one or the other be suspended or injured. Only time will tell i suppose, when we see what Aidys wheeler dealing brings us. Also if the Demerit/Heider swap thing is true (which i really don't believe) then i personally wouldn't be too upset...Could save a few Ogs
Would rather see Earnshaw or Eastwood back than Helguson. Darius does a more than apt job at being target man and dispite what some say, I can confrim he will score in the championship
I stick up for Hendo, but imo he isn't a target man because he isn't so good at controlling the ball (which was a failings of the tactics last season). But i agree i'd prefer Earnshaw. If we can't get him HH would be my 2nd choice because he would be slightly better than Hendo as target man (if we're still going to play that type of football?) and he is proven unlike Eastwood. Hopefully we can do what West Brom did last season and just refuse to sell - something they even seem to be doing now despite players handing transfer requests in on a daily basis (and having them rejected)
Whenever we played 4-5-1 in the CCC, Marlon was the 1 up front & Hendo moved back to wide midfield, or got taken off.
Daily Mail says today that H has gone to WBA as a makeweight in the (according to them) completed Camara to Fulham deal...
Again with the Hendo bashing. How can you possibly say he won't score goals in the Championship? I would love H to come back, though I feel without Hendo our forward line will just get knocked around and look all pathetic. I mean, Priskin, Hoskins, Ashikodi, Robinson? Not exactly the strongest players to grace The Vic are they...
Look at it this way. Say we sign HH and Henderson leaves and H gets injured who would replace him as the strong type like Henderson or the other way round were Hendo stays but HH doesnt sign who would replace him if got injured?
A target man is more someone to pump the ball up to and win headers. Obviously I wouldn't want us to do this all the time, in fact I'd rather we just got the ball out wide like we did much of the 05-06 season He never did score those 14 goals that year did he. I wonder who scored against Luton away Preston home Norwich away etc?
HH is a far more all rounded striker than Hendo. Hendo is a great battler but I have lost all confidence in him (and some other players) after last season.
Agree totally, Hendo is good enough for the CCC and showed alot of character last season when things did not go his way. Whilst I'd love to see HH back at the Vic maybe it's best that we remember him the way he was as players often dissapoint when they return to former clubs. Having said that I'd hate him to turn up for the opposition (again).
Sorry, I didn't see any character, just a carthorse floundering out of its depth. I accept I am in the minority here, but I just can't see the optimism over Hendo. I think it will be a terrible mistake if we approach the coming season with Hendo pencilled in as Marlon's partner for the season, but with a clutch of unproven youngsters as back up. If anything happens to Marlon again, we will not be able to buy a goal and that is assuming that Marlon hits somthing like the same heights as last time, which is by no means a guaranteed outcome. I have said this many times before and I know some people disagree, but I don't think we can hope to mount a serious promotion challenge with the striking options we have available. Having said all that, I do accept I have been a little harsh on Doris at times. I certainly think that if we are 1-0 up and struggling to defend, he can be someone to bring on and help the ball to stick up front. I DO think he has a role to play at the club, but as a back up to a quality strike partnership.
I dont think hell score as many as last time either. Im more concerned that in his desperate attempt to score goals he forgets hes much more vital to the watford team for his aerial ability up top and link up play, which i know is poor but it adds something different.
and he was crap "that" other year, why is it not possible we were unlucky in the prem and just goodin the champ as opposed to lucky and crap?
It is possible. I'm just saying what I think. Doris should not be on the starting sheet IMO, unless we are decimated by injuries. As a sub or a back-up then he has a role at the club. If you believe that Doris will start most games next season and be successful, then I admire your optimism.
I would love to see King, Hendo and Heidar in the same WFC eleven. Defenders would be very nervous men. Who would they keep an eye on next? All these guys are very physical too, it'd be awesome. I think HH could play a much better Damien Francis role as the attacking midfielder with extra edge at corners and set pieces. Sadly I am sure I'll never see it happen that way.
Kamara to Fulham Sky Sports are reporting that WBA and Fulham have reached a deal for Diomansy Kamara seeing him going Fulham's way for 6.5m, surely that means Heidar's on the way out now... COME HOME HEIDAR!!!
Helguson joins West Brom Helguson has joined West Brom today as part of deal seeing Kamara going the other way to Fulham
