HORNETS' hot-shot Marlon King (pictured right) and midfielder Alhassan Bangura have signed new contracts at Vicarage Road as Watford have moved to secure the immediate futures of two of their most admired stars.
King, 27, who finished as Watford's top scorer during their promotion winning season has signed improved terms on his existing deal, which expires in June 2009.

Despite only starting in 12 Premier League games during a season disrupted by a serious knee injury, Jamaica international King scored four times for the Hornets in the top-flight, including two goals in his final two games.
The news follows confirmation last week that manager Aidy Boothroyd had similarly re-committed his future to the club.

Sierra Leone player Bangura (pictured above), 19, has joined King in signing improved and extended terms which will see him committed to the Vicarage Road club until June 2010.
Bangura has featured in 20 games for Aidy Boothroyd's side this season, having progressed as a young player through the highly acclaimed Watford Academy.
Meanwhile, former Watford youngster Ben Gill signed a two year deal with Cheltenham Town earlier this week.

Why we signing carp players from our accademy? We should be getting rid of all our accademy players because our acccademy is carp. We need to spend £3 million minimum on each new signiing. Good god the clubs a mess and in turmoil.

    Going down for sure.

So how much more "improved" do you thing King's contract is?

The only downside is that its a shame he didnt extend his deal past 2 years... if we dont go up next season then he's got a year left and could quite possibly leave in a cut price deal.

An extra year would have been nice but I guess we cant have it all can we!!

Very pleased about bangbang, the poor chap has deserved a few quid more than the minimum wage for a while now!

Bangbang for Mahon next season me thinks!

So Marlon got a pay rise - well done Aidy. Making a move to secure Marlon stays at the vic. That he does not extend the contract is a pity but okay.

As for BangBang - I am very pleased it's and improvement and extension. He will be big for us in the years to come.

Anyone want to bet against a midfield of BangBang and Williamson/Rinaldi at the start of the new season?

I can't believe that Bangura is still only (just turned) 19! It feels like he has been around for a while now and he has absolutely bags of potential with plenty of time to fulfill it.

true he is very young still, surprised our carp academy stuck with him or any of our fledglings - close the academy it just isn't working.

How can you say that? BangBang follows Doyley, Hameur and Ashley Young - players who - in various degrees - have been good for the club. Also we seem to have a few exciting players coming through (Campana, Robinson etc.) . Don't for a second believe that any academy will have a plethora of players coming through and becoming successes. I think we have a decent academy tbh. And with the latest development in our youth setup - the hitrate will improve Iøm sure.

Marlon signs, Marlons off for sure

Marlon signing a new improved offer is IMO a sure sign that he is off this close season to

GERMANYBratwursts on Marlon - musn't get confused between the bratwurst and his macca's size, as it could be a very nasty bite.

One negative to this otherwise brilliant news is I would guess Marlon has been shrewd enough to write a release clause in. That said, he's going no where this summer now - of that I'm 100% sure.
