I really hope that Adey's 1st job this summer is to secure a permanent deal for Douglas. Since coming in he has impressed me with his commitment and workrate, at last a midfielder who doesn't mind getting forward and tackling back at the same time (if U get my drift). IMO he will be a sensation in the fizzy pop.
Hopefully he will sign, looked a good player on occasions this year. If Aidy doesn't sign him, i hope it because he has a more 'established' option lined up (as opposed to another unknown!). I wonder what will happen to Cavalli, not much has been mentioned of him since feb/march
I thought Rinaldi was on a 6 month deal and the other two (Cavalli and Avinell spl?) were on 12 month (maybe even two year) deals?
Cos they're a third divsion Brazilian club and it wouldn't be too great if they stood in the way of one of their players playing at a much higher level. They'll have been paid for the loan anyway, so will have gained something from it. And of course, he's still their player until we agree a fee, so they hold all the cards.
Rinaldi on a 6 month loan whilst i believe both Cavalli and Avinal are on 18th month deals with the option to extend.
Definately worth signing. He is comfortable on the ball, plays good passes and is generally a good footballer. I hope Aidy signs him
I would hope that he is the first signing we make because I am sure there will be other clubs, especially in the championship sniffing around him now.
for rumour lovers out there, one of my colleagues at work saw rinaldi at the bupa in bushey last week-he was having his nose looked at-and he said he was in talks with the club
Avinel and Cavalli are on 18 month (now just a year) permenant contracts. Rinaldi was a loan till the end of the season. I'm guessing because he was allowed to come here on loan a work permit will not be an issue?
Rinaldi I spoke to DR at the end of season dinner. He was on a 6 month' loan which has now expired. He wants to stay and was due to enter talks with the club after the final game. He said he had no idea whether Aidy wanted him on a permanent deal (or not), he had had no feedback from AB, but he hoped to sign. He was no doubt at BUPA because he broke his nose at Reading. One other issue; he said his wife and child were at home in Brazil and there is an issue about whether they can join him here if he does sign. Found that surprising but - unless something was lost in translation - that's what he said. Also spoke to Cavalli. He has a contract for next season.

Yes, Cavalli said he had a small injury which was just about healed. He wasn't any more specific than that. Just failed to make fitness for the final game.
Did he sign a new contract to keep him at the club next season or was his contract running that long anyway
I have a Beko fridge, and as a long term supporter of our new sponser i think i deserve a free freezer. Oh and i hope we sign Douglas up, he's the only one of our January signing to regularly impress me. Williamson has shown glimpses of what he can do, as has Cavalli, but Rinaldi has been the most consistent.
From what I've seen/know of Williamson I think he could have done as much, if not more for us than Rinaldi has done if he had been given more of a chance... Obviously I hope Douglas' deal becomes a permanent one though.
Surely the fact that Rinaldi was given the chance though means that he impressed the most in training etc? I'm not knocking Williamson's input, he had a go and was energetic, but Rinaldi must have earned his chance before Williamson.

Good to see we moved quickly to snap him up. Not that I think there was any danger of another English club wanting him but just to put us out of our misery wondering...
Good news, though it still confusses me that Rinaldi has no w/p problem yet Junior did. can anyone explain the difference in the two cases? e.g. is Rinaldi also Portuguese? Thanks!
He must have second nationality of some description. I think it's up to grandparent level that you can apply for an EU passport.
