Yet again the same user resorts to making things personal when others are only expressing an opinion. As seen in the quote above, the comment is totally unwarranted and unnecessary. Have a debate, state your point, disagree with people but keep your own little personal agendas out of things.
Aidy: "Grrr... why won't Malky run faster? I've told him a hundred times about Linford Christie and how you can be super fast even though you're old as a mountain. And still he hardly moves on the pitch! If only he would believe what I know he can become, then he'd be the best in the worl... err, where was I ? Oh yes, central defense... that American fella seems to have gone totally mad, so I have one slow mountain of a man and a hot-headed American... Damn, I need to get Clarke back into shape! Fast! Maybe I can loan him out to Man Utd. No wait, Chelsea need him, I saw that other guy get smashed in the head the other day. Hmm wait... no loans between Premiership clubs outside transfer window, right.. Championship then, who needs a center back there? Didn't I just sell someone to a Championship club? Oh yes, Springy! Better give him a call! Marlon, get Springy's number for me! And stop practising that stupid stand-up comedy, I'm not giving you a mic on Saturday!" Clarke: "Luton Town?! Aren't they like playing in the Conference League or something?! Oh... Championship? Are you sure about this Aidy or are you having hallucinations about impossible missions again? Okay, okay, I believe you, and yes I need to get into shape. I'll be a monster down there in the Championship! MUHAHAHA! Just wait and see how fit and confident I'm going to be when I get back Aidy! Then you can not not pick me, for sure!" Fans: "Boo boo, we hate Luton for whatever reason, boo boo, we hate you Carlisle, boo boo, sack Boothroyd, kill Simpson, boooooooooo boooooo"
I agree 100% with Brumhorn. I look fwd to playing the pikeys twice next term if they stay up. i don't see Clarke as "tainted" just because as a professional he has leapt at the chance to play 1st team football. Maybe noone else was interested in loaning him. I hope he gets a good run and comes back an improved player. With the inconsistencies of MacKay and Demerit, we need a 4th, fit centre half to put the pressure on.
That is my point, i believe some people have blown it out of proportion and they happen to do it alot.
Strange you should say that- the following appeared on their web site: `Mike has done a great piece of business here, and should be applauded. Carlisle is just the sort of tenacious player we need to secure our position this season. What with the return of Matty, I am almost grateful to our unmentionable neighbours. I wonder if they would loan us Marlon King to get him fit with a few goals for us! `
Woah there! Chill out. I said your opinion was fair, but that I don't really agree with it. Kinda struggling to see what else we could discuss? I don't think he had any choice, you do. You want me to reiterate that I don't think he had any choice? Anyway, I'll ask you this: exactly who would it benefit if Carlisle turned down a loan move to Luton? Not the player, not Watford, so who? No one, that's who.
Well, to be honest i'm not too fussed about sending them a defender who hasn't played a competitive match in 10 months, he's hardly going to be sharp is he. To be honest i expect him to be pretty poor whilst he's there. 10 months without a game is a long time and it's definately going to take him a while to just get his brain on speed with the game let alone his body. By the time he's anywhere near matchfit his loan will be over. Think how long it takes a top class player to regain form after a serious lay-off, it'll be even worse for an average player like Carlisle, especially in a team thats playing terrible. On the other hand, it is the scum and if Clarke does indeed aid their survival then it'll be disappointing, at least until next season when he scores our winning goal at that sorry excuse for a stadium. Let's not over-react, we've sent them a crock on loan to gain a bit of fitness in order to prepare him for next season, where in all reality, if he keeps fit and stays here will become a very good asset in the Championship.
Have to say I'm more inclined to agree with Luke above. A player who's been injured for 10 months is hardly likely to fly out of the blocks. Never fear, he'll barely be any use to the scum. You spoke about loyalty earlier - but how would a professional player be considered loyal if he won't even go where his employer sends him? Who does he owe the loyalty to - the club or the fans?
I have read everything people have said but still feel that the club has done wrong. If we ever give them another player then i really will be very angry.
It's not that I think people are stupid if I don't agree with them but I do think that not wanting Carlisle back after a month's loan at Luton is INCREDIBLY STUPID. Oh, Clarkey, Clarkey He went on loan to the scum for a month But he's all right now!
Any wfc fan travelling through bedfordshyte to and from a game are disloyal scumshytes and should be banned from wfc.
But the fans aren't particularly loyal back. Look at the disgraceful treatment of Mahon, one of our longest serving players. Fans are fickle - a player can go from being god on earth to disgrace to the shirt in 180 minutes. His loyalty should be to the club, his employers. So yeah, I guess it is unrealistic.
Stop moaning... its a months loan for goodness sake. It will benefit the player and the club that he is getting first team football. If we can get him fit, he can really be a big player for us next season.
How many of those not wanting Carlisle back have been loyal to him and not indulged in scurrilous gossip about the reason behind his long absence?
The way I look at it is Aidy was looking for the team with a p’s poor defence that would give Clarke the test he needs and after scouring all the sh!te in the Fizzypop he found Scum. He’ll get a hell of a lot of practice :]] Of course he’ll be welcomed back, as have been other player who played for scum and became horns, Alec C, Shaun Dyche, Springy, Kabba,…….
Your ideas aren't very joined up. The fans don't pay his wages. In fact, a Mr R Murdoch of Oz Land pays considerably more of a players wages than any group of fans do. At the end of the day why should a player be loyal to fans who are fickle? I am loyal to WFC. In return I expect the club to treat me with some loyalty. Frankly if WFC have asked Carlisle to go play for Luton then that is a decision taken on the basis of his professional football career, not a rivalry between fans.
UEA, I would suggest that it was a decision made with the best interests of WFC first, closely followed by what was best for CC. Not aimed at you Rich - if you support WFC, then although you may not like it or agree with it, at least understand that the club is not intentionally going to do something that will harm us. No one complained when Blizz joined the Hatters
I did not really mean that we pay there wages, but was trying to point out that we pay are hard earnt money on the club, and we should be able to say what we think. I dont really think the mahon thing is fan being fickle. fans will allways judge a player on reccent performance thats not fickle its allways been that way. if nobody at watford were fickle then lewington and cox and all the other rubbish lot would still be here and we could be in league one.
I'm simply saying that expecting the players to be wholly loyal to the fans when we are not wholly loyal to them is a strange notion. I'm not stopping you or telling you to stop saying what you want.
But your opinion is based on rational thought and that's the kind of attitude that makes us a laughing stock:rolleye1:
I am sure the Luton fans will love having an unfit in terms of matches defender leading their side....
He should be loyal to because we pay to see him play, but its not him i blame. its the club i blame they should be loyal to fans, and not sell springy for peanuts to them and then give then clarke on loan.
he went to luton thats why i criticise the deal. i would not be surprised if luton gave us a higher asking price for edwards then they did to sunderland.
Apparently the inter-board relations are very good so I doubt that somehow. Again: this is a rivalry between fans, not clubs.
And the club should be loyal to the fans, and should not be making pals with luton. i never agreed with selling spring to the scum.
Agree le froggie ami. he clubs must hate our derby days and the additional policing costs involved because of the hate of the fans. Did anyone see the on TV the Bristol Rovers v Bristol city game the other night. 11k people and they had police horses on the pitch after the game to keep the fans apart. Can Bristol Rovers for example really afford the extra dosh laid out on policing because of the rivalry hatred of teh fans.
