Just heard. Apparently on Talksport they annouced that Fulham have accepted a bid for Collins John. Is it us?
Just had a text from a mate saying SSN have stated Fulham accept a bid for CJ believed to be from Watford....
It has to be us. I'd be chuffed if this goes through- John has unbelievlable potential. He was their top-scorer last season, is very quick and strong and is still just 21! I can't believe they're letting him go tbh. Also, even if we get relegated, he'd be great for the Championship and I could see him bagging 20 goals down there with his eyes closed.
He is a good player, and to think that fulham are letting go a 21 year old strong fast striker with potential, is silly, but if we can profit from that i'd be happy
I've just noticed on skysports.com that also today Fulham had an offer rejected for this centre-back Oguchi Oneywu, even though it appears that they practically agreed personal terms with him. So maybe they see centre-back as a position that needs more urgent strengthening and are selling John to get money to be able to up their bid for this guy? http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=439234&CPID=112&clid=373&lid=3&title=Fulham+hitch+over+Onyewu
Sky are suggesting it is us, but it would be typical if we missed out and he went to someone else (like Sheffield United). John would be a brilliant signing, i just hope we wouldn't be forced to sell him on if the worst happened and we went down. Imagine him upfront with Marlon Come on Aidy, You Can do it!
Why would we be forced to sell him if we went down, six months into his contract lol? I'm sure all parties in the deal will be keeping the possibility of us going down in mind whilst going through it. Him and Marlon would be great though.
Oh please not sheffield utd. theyve got enough strikers. id kill myself if he chose sheffield utd. over us
All adds up! Boothroyd says he's interested in john. Boothroyd makes 3 bids for players. Fulham say they've accepted a bid for John. Subject to contract, Johns on his way in ;D
It could be the only way for us to make him agree to personal terms was a release clause if relegated. I don't think that sounds far fetched at all. The task for Aidy is to convince him that we are going places as a club and as a team.
That's what i was thinking, but it's also the old 'too good to be true' nerves because John would be such an exciting signing! But IF anyone can sell the club to him, it will be Aidy.
Two things: (1) The unnamed club could be anyone, even though we're the most likely and (2) if we are the club, I doubt the contract will be much of an issue. Aidy has been speaking about him since summer and wouldn't be so stupid as to talk up a player so much if the interest wasn't riciprocal.
Is a decent player I think but does miss some simple chances as we saw on Monday much like our current forwards.
But if anyone wants him they know theres a bid in for him so they'd have to act now. It wouldn't make a diffeence if they'd named us, it's not as if anyones going to bid for him just to **** us off it could even be another club, like sheff utd, bidding so its trying to get us into a bidding war
