I think you’d be surprised, we really don’t want to sell him. It’ll take a big fee to take him, much higher than the £15m touted last month.
£25m would be the figure I'd expect we'd accept with a sell-on clause of some type. He's still got a lot to grow but he's at a level where that room to grow could be a Europa level club quite quickly which will sky rocket a future sale.
Agreed and from my understanding £25m is around about the right number. There will definitely be a sell on clause too, we know that’s always got to be the case with these younger players
I'd be happy with £25m plus a sell-on fee from a European club, we wouldn't be getting anything as a sell-on if we sold him to Saudi!
But we may/might get £25m in one go…rather than drip-fed over 5yrs…not to mention taking a bit off for interest when we inevitably borrow the instalments from that bank.
Whatever the sum it's not going into our personal bank accounts, and it's not getting invested back into the squad, so does it really matter if they sell him for £25 million or 25p? So disillusioned with the club right now.
Have to say frog, this is my main issue. At any other time I’d be happy with such a decent sum, but we’re losing our best player, we won’t use the money and we’ve also now sold all our high value assets. come next season we’ll have no £40 million bail outs on player sales and a severely weakened squad, league 2 here we come
It’s not the news we want to hear but thanks as always @Goldenorn for warning us to expect it. It’s incredible disappointing, as surely we all watch Watford to be entertained and we will now have lost both he and Pedro within twelve months. The only glimmer of hope is, as we saw last night albeit in a friendly, that we still do have some potentially pleasing players to watch if they are developed properly. But obviously they’re a year or so behind Asprilla, so it’s frustrating to have to start trying to polish again.
Born in Scotland to Rudi Vata, an ex-Albanian international who played for Celtic, and a mother of Irish origin, hence he plays for Ireland at youth level. If Vata is anywhere near as good as some of the Albanian-origin players we've had, we have a right player on our hands!

He came back yesterday to say goodbye to teammates supposedly and left again today on a plane. Total fee is rumoured to be £27m with our friend Mr Bayat also being involved.
They've got a youngster (Desire Doue) who's being linked with a £50m move to either PSG or Bayern and have already had some big sales this summer (€40m transfer profit so far) - so they're pretty flush at the moment! Made €70m from sales last summer as well, they've got a pretty good system going
At least we have decent players who can play in his position, if we were to lose Hoedt we’d be more ****ed imo
