Position: Goalkeeper Foot: Right Current Club: Udinese Age:20 Great physical presence for a youngster. Superb reflexes and good distributor of a ball. Bit weak coming for crosses and reluctant at times to leave his lines and close angles.
Been hoping we'd get this guy on loan (posted it a few times on here before) looks like a great young keeper.
Been sayin we should sign him from last sumer. He also gave an nterview to a Polish blog in which he said he will speak to Giampaolo Pozzo as he wants to go on loan next season as he will b 3rd choice at Udinese next season. Mentioned Watford/ Granada as preferred destination's. But with Granada signing Roberto to a new contract yesterday, it's very possible he will come here.
IF he comes he wont be 3rd choice. For Me, Almunia gets another year and is 1st choice. Pawlowski is back up keeper who will get his fair amount of games what with Almunia's injury record. I'd loan Bond out to a Bristol City/Wolves.. a top League 1 club on the basis he will be 1st choice and get 30/40 games behind him. Then next season Bond and Pawlowski to battle it out for the number 1 spot
My point was not that he is better than Bond!!! My point was Bond will not develop by being sat on his arse playing a handful of games!!! He develops by going out to a top League 1 club and playing 30/40 games!!
Udinese have in the last few minutes signed Croation goalkeeper Ivan Kelava. He will fight Zjleko Brkic for the number 1 spot and Rafal Romo will be the young 3rd choice. Pawlowski now looks certain to join Watford. This makes me very very happy
Then how will Pawlowski improve much? If Almunia stays he will be our number one, he misses 7 league games this year just, so surely Pawlowski will be sat on the bench?
That was the rumour. But more recent rumours say him staying at Udine as 2nd, with the young (17YO) local lad Scuffet (U17 international) as 3rd. Maybe Romo prefers, for language, to go to Granada; don't know. Other rumours say Pawlowski might go on loan in a "serie B" (our second tier) team. But it would seem more sensible to keep him "in the family" at Watford IMHO.
Granada have just signed their 1st choice GK Roberto to a new deal. They also have Tono a very good GK as back up. They have no need for him. We don't currently have a GK with Almunia, Bond, Bonham all out of contract so the smart money is him coming here.
I have seen at least 2 interview's in which Pawlowski has said he will speak to Giampaolo about goiin out on loan next season. His preference due to it eing easy is to go to Watford or Granada. Granada just signed Roberto to a new deal and have Tono as back up. The smart money is hopefully on him coming to Watford. I rate him very highly as does one of my Polish friends who has seen him play live a fair few times
Bond should be out on Loan to a Div 1/Championship side next season he needs to be playing every week. But he would have to sign a new contract first
Lets see Pawlowski as no.2, Bond out to a lower team, maybe one coming up from league 1 or a top league 1 team. When Almunia retires they'll be ready to fight it out for number one.
To the short sighted doughnut's sayin getting Pawlowski in mean's we scew Bond over, take a step back and take off your rose tinted glasses. Yes Bond is a very good and promising goalkeper. However, surly the best thing for his development is to go to a top League 1 club, maybe Bristol City/Wolves where he will play more than 7/8 games in a season. He learns jack all being sat on his arse week in week out.
I wouldn't say that, he's come a long way since his home debut v Bradford in Jan 2012, not that he was terribly bad, but has learnt a lot from training with Alec/Manuel/Scott/Tomasz.
I think he just says as many different possibilities as he can think of so that he can take the credit for the correct ones
