http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/4574590.Williamson_to_join_Pompey_today/ Mike Williamson will leave Watford and sign for Portsmouth this afternoon in a deal which could land Watford £3m. The centre half, who handed in a written transfer request on Thursday, travelled to the south coast this morning and is currently having a medical. The Watford Observer understands Pompey will pay an initial £2m for the wantaway defender but that fee will rise to £3m after add-ons. The Hornets also have a large sell on clause. Williamson has been one of Watford’s star players since signing from Wycombe Wanderers in January for around £150,000. But he infuriated manager Malky Mackay on Friday when, after Watford had rejected his transfer request following an initial bid from Portsmouth, Williamson declared himself unfit to travel to Swansea. The deal represents good business for Watford but Wycombe do have a healthy sell on clause of their own, believed to be as much as 25 per cent.
Good point, StuBoy... We must have taken a massive step towards financial security and stability during this window... Let's just hope it's not also a massive step towards League One But, as long as we're there, so will I be...
Very nice fee. anyone who thinks he was worth £5m is kidding themselves. Need to get a replacement though.
I am actually glad to see the back of him. Did he want to play for us? No. He would of dragged the rest of the team down in terms of morale, and in any terms we have made an excellent profit on him. I don't think we need to panic buy, we can just wait until things calm down a bit, get a decent loanee, and then sign someone on a permanent deal in January.
He was very good for us, ashame about how he's acted recently, can only say well done to the board and malky - a c.unt like him can **** off! Good fee but realistically, I don't see the club getting a replacement by 5, unfortuneately
You can't blame him for wanting to move, as a footballer everyone wants to play in the Premier League. He had no reason to be loyal to us, he actually has some ambitions unlike Watford! No one said anything about Smith and he wanted to move to Rodgers!
:forehead::forehead: Jesus christ! Of course for not the bit in bold, it for the following reasons people are not happy and rightly so -Tommy didnt had in a transfer request -Tommy didnt say i am not going to play in the next game Simply as!
Yes but he obviously wants to move and the club rejected his transfer request of course he is going to be upset if not annoyed he has every right to want to move and i don't think the club should really try and stop him! Tommy was a Watford boy and he OK he didn't hand in a transfer request but he clearly wanted to move that's why he is not here anymore
£3million ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Bloody hell... thats a fantastic piece of business. THREE MILLION QUID!!!! 6 months after signing him for 100k!! MENTAL! Can't wait to see who we bring in..... exciting times indeed, are we finally financially secure?
SSN say that Williamson has completed a medical and agreed personal terms and that it should be confirmed soon.
http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/4575064.Wantaway_Williamson_has_gone/ Mike Williamson has completed his expected departure from Watford and joined Portsmouth in a deal which could land the Hornets as much as £3m. The fee is undisclosed but the Watford Observer understands the defender will cost Pompey an initial £2m, rising to £3m after add ons and that Watford have a 30 per cent sell on clause. The 25-year-old signed from Wycombe Wanderers in January for around £150,000 and although the Buckinghamshire-club have a sell on clause of around 25 per cent, the Hornets have still made a huge profit on the centre half. Williamson has been one of Watford’s star players since joining seven months ago but after Pompey had an initial bid turned down on Thursday, the former Southampton man handed in a written transfer request. This was rejected by the Hornets and on Friday Williamson declared himself “unfit” to travel to Wales and face Swansea. This led to criticism from Malky Mackay and it only seemed a matter of time until Williamson reunited with former Hornet Tommy Smith, who completed his own move on Thursday.

It all depends what it's 30% of. If it's of any future transfer fee then fine but if it's any fee over what they've already paid then maybe not.
If he does what we think he'll do and warm the bench, it'll be 30% of his free transfer to "Insert CCC team here" at the end of his contract. Oh- Pompey still showing last years PL table on their website, next to the williamson story- wishful thinking!
