We should tell em to fark off. All this transfer window sheet should end on 31.07.09. To sell your top players after people have bought season tickets on the back of the squad pre 31.08.09, is extracting the urine.
a premiership player without any doubt i reckon mate , we`ll be lucky if he`s still with us come February
Agree with Leighton, the bloke is clearly a Premiership centre back, but he must be kept until at least January, he'll be worth even more by then and it's not a Smith/Priskin situation where his contract is running out. Unless a ridiculous bid is made (£5m+, if Roger Johnson can go for that much then Williamson is worth more than Ronaldo) he should absolutely not be sold.
I would not be happy to see this happen!!!! Personally I would not sell him!!! However, if we are going to sell Willo it must be for BIG BIG MONEY!!! £2 Million is nowhere near enough IMO!!!
It`s ok , as your putting lots of these !!! in your post and a few of THESE as well , there is NO WAY he`s going for such a pittance
We're in dire trouble if he goes, but with a lot left on his contract, we should hold out for top dollar, but again, it's all about player power. If Willo fancies Newcastle, we're screwed. Let's face it, they'd pay far more than us... Only chance we'd have is whether the sorry state of affairs up there delays player signings... The revolving door at Watford FC never fails to p1ss me right off...
at wot point does a selling club become stagnant.....gotta take some risks to have ambition for the club. course now isnt prob right time for tht...transitional period and all :|
I agree the window should end sooner- it should be like F1 (no in season testing) Reading have tested their squad, found it inadequate and now come along for Tom. (I know they were interested earlier, but had the deadline been earlier, I think they'd have settled with what they had at the time as their offer obviously wasn't serious enough) However- It may seem easy for me to say as a non-STH, but I don't think that people should buy a season-ticket depending on what players are at the club.
for most teams like wfc, i think supporters buy their ticket to suport the team regardless of what names are in it. that said, i think most people would agree its stupid having the transfer window extend into the season. it should end before the first ball is kicked.
A decent defender is harder to find than a decent forward. Newcastle will probably lose Taylor for around £6-7M and the diasaster that is Colocinni back to La Liga (Espanyol) for a knock down £3M but they shoudl have plenty of money enough to pay a decent fee in the region of £3.5M which would be a tidy profit for us. Considering Johnson went for £5M Willo is worth at least £3M in this ludicrously overinflated transfer market.
