    Apparently the bigger the claws, the weaker the sting, as they need to grab their prey more tightly and for longer. The ones with the smallest claws are he ones to avoid as grabbing hold of their prey is barely necessary !

    Found a woodpecker on our path - were our trees not gfood enough ?

    Green woodpeckers almost always feed on lawns and paths as they eat mainly ants. Once they find an ants nest they can be there for ages !
