I asked an AI to 'write a speech persuading someone to support Watford FC', and this is what it produced:

Good afternoon, fellow football fans! I am here today to talk to you about one of the most exciting and dynamic teams in the world: Watford FC.

For those who may not be familiar with Watford FC, allow me to give you a brief rundown of the team's history and accomplishments. Watford FC was founded in 1881 and currently plays in the English Premier League, the top tier of English football. Over the years, the team has consistently performed at a high level, regularly finishing in the top half of the league table and even reaching the FA Cup final in 1984.

But Watford FC is not just a successful team on the pitch, they are also a club with a rich history and a passionate fan base. The team's home stadium, Vicarage Road, has been the site of some of the most exciting matches in English football history, and the fans, known as the "Hornets," are renowned for their loud and loyal support.

So why should you support Watford FC? Well, for starters, if you are a fan of exciting, attacking football, then Watford FC is the team for you. The team plays a fast-paced, attacking style of football that is sure to entertain even the most casual of fans. Plus, with players like Gerard Deulofeu, Ismaila Sarr, and Troy Deeney leading the charge, you can be sure that Watford FC will score plenty of goals and put on a show every time they take the pitch.

In addition to their on-pitch success, Watford FC is also a club with a strong commitment to their community. The team works closely with local organizations to support a variety of causes and make a positive impact in the area. Whether it's through charitable donations, community outreach programs, or other initiatives, Watford FC is always looking for ways to give back and make a difference.

So, if you want to support a team that plays exciting, attacking football and is committed to making a positive impact in the community, then I urge you to join the ranks of the Watford FC faithful and become a part of something special. Together, we can cheer on the Hornets and help them continue to climb the ranks of English football. Thank you.

    Couple of minor gripes:
Firstly, when I first gave the AI the prompt, the speech was littered with the word 'soccer'. Those had to go. Credit where it's due, the AI was very good at correcting the issue when I raised it.
Second, we don't play in the Premier League! It's a season early!

It's American coded - thus the "Soccer" phrase. But yeah it's pretty much spot on in regards to the club's history. Good find.

Good evening everyone. I'm here today to talk to you about why Watford is the worst football team out there.

First of all, Watford has consistently underperformed in recent years. In the 2019-2020 season, they finished in 19th place in the Premier League, narrowly avoiding relegation to the Championship. And in the 2020-2021 season, they finished in 17th place, again failing to impress.

Secondly, Watford has a history of making poor managerial decisions. In the past few years, they have gone through several managers, each of whom has failed to turn the team around. This lack of stability at the managerial level has surely had a negative impact on the team's performance.

Thirdly, Watford's players simply aren't up to the task. They lack the talent and the technical ability of other teams in the league, and as a result, they struggle to compete. Just look at their recent record of losses and draws - it's clear that they are outmatched by the other teams in the league.

In conclusion, it's clear that Watford is the worst football team out there. They have underperformed, made poor managerial decisions, and their players are simply not good enough. If you're a fan of quality football, then Watford is not the team for you. Thank you for listening.

Your wish is my command. A letter to any Gino lovers:

    Dear [Name],

I am writing to persuade you that Gino Pozzo should sell Watford Football Club. As a fan of the club, I know that this may be a difficult decision to accept, but I truly believe it is the right one for both the club and its supporters.

First and foremost, it is important to consider the financial health of the club. As you may know, Watford has struggled financially in recent years and has been unable to compete with some of the wealthier clubs in the Premier League. Selling the club to a new owner with deeper pockets would allow for significant investment in the team, which could lead to better performance on the pitch and a more competitive squad.

In addition to the potential financial benefits, a new owner could bring fresh ideas and a new vision for the club. This could lead to more engaging and entertaining football, and a more positive experience for fans.

It is also worth considering that Gino Pozzo has been the owner of Watford for nearly a decade, and it may be time for new leadership to take the reins. A change in ownership could bring new energy and enthusiasm to the club, which could have a positive impact on the players, the staff, and the fans.

I understand that selling Watford may be a difficult decision for Gino Pozzo, and it is not one that should be taken lightly. However, I truly believe it is the best course of action for the long-term health and success of the club. Thank you for considering my perspective.

    Sincerely, [Your Name]

Seriously scary to think what can be done online with these tools to steer conversations one way or another. Thinking about the computational power most Governments have and most likely having more powerful AI at their disposal. No wonder Theresa May didnt want to disclose the fact she had cosy chats with Cambridge Analytica at Downing Street. So easy to divide and conquer this way, food for thought isnt it. I wonder where Henry Hooters controlling AI is based.
