Don't forget waving your flags furiously at 0-5.
We've agreed on Deeney and Javi. But the second para. of your post is just so entirely wrong that I am forced to reply to it twice.
I don't recognise any serial happy-clappers on these forums. Admittedly though, there are shape-shifters who can seamlessly switch between 'doom & gloomer' and 'happy clapper' on a weekly basis depending on the result. But not you. The walls of the doom & gloomer box would appear to define you (or at least I've yet to see any evidence to the contrary). The Morrissey or Leonard Cohen (if you know who he is), with a good dose of Sid Vicious anger thrown in, of the WFC Forums' soundtrack. The king of the negativity group with hb1 heading up the conspiracy theory gang. And seemingly proud of it.
Me? I'm definitely 'more traditional' (or I might call it realist - comes with age) with plenty of 'theme of the weeker' thrown in too (which comes with not having aged at all). Not a bad way to be.
You are attempting to redefine the definition of 'supporter'. Because nowhere from Oxford to Collins have I seen it defined as ... one who continuously puts the boot in on the thing he supports ...
I don't reckon you're Scum Town. But definitely north of Hemel. Hopefully not as far north as Dunstable.
Wrong match mate.
You need to listen to more Leonard Cohen. Not the doommonger he is made out to be.
And so much better than Dylan.
I’m sure he can fight his own battles but I do for a second want to stick up somewhat for the ‘type’ of fan @NathWFC is being labelled...
I don’t think anyone on here has a serious right to define what type of fan someone should be. Is he OTT with his negativity at times? Sure, but it’s far easier to accept when you realise that’s just his style rather than any attempt to actively turn on the club. If people still struggle, why not just use the ‘ignore’ function? That’s what it’s there for. Fairly certain some forum members use it on me! So be it!
But it seems churlish to get consistently get wound up by an individual on here when you have the power to avoid it.
The ignore button is a cop-out. Far better to engage. Nath doesn't wind-me-up by the way. I just find his relentlessness boorish. So, seeing as he seems incapable of back-referencing me to a positive post he's made, maybe he could just post something positive now. Go on Nath, you know you can do it! How about one on the Sensory Room?
All of that is Deeney's fault?
I was more of a Zebedee fan.
I think we can all agree that Deeney is probably past his best but for me he still has a lot to offer. Our best moments against Everton involved him. yes he should have scored but all strikers miss chances but it was a very intelligent run and at least he hit the target. Last season he scored 11 goals, 9 in the Premier League and 5 assists. How much would it cost to replace a player who will do that? We certainly missed him when he was suspended after the Arsenal game but that may have been down to lack of options to replace him. This season with Sarr and Welbeck we have different options and maybe he shouldn't play every game but to write him off after two games of the season seems ridiculous. I don't think he should be captain as I do feel he complains too much when maybe some encouragement would be better
Most of it.
This gif creature is a manatee, dugong, or sea cow. Identified by its blunt dish and palmate flippers. A bit like a moose with palmate antlers then.
It spends its time in the brackish, coastal waters of the Atlantic off west Africa and the Americas and in the Amazon basin. It is extremely slow-moving, cruising about scoffing loads of emergent and floating vegetation. Its favourite hobby is therefore farting and contributing to global warming. It never gets excited about anything at all and is incapable of doing 'happy-clappy'.
Therefore its use in this context is an absolute f.cking disgrace.
Probably more to do with the fact that it's clapping in the gif, lad.
Ha! Sarcasm eh? Over your head and over the crossbar it goes!
Good healthy debate and disagreements. That's what forums are for.
Nath is right. We are on a terrible run and team selection does seem to be inflexible and there seems to be an overwhelming belief that if we keep doing what we are doing, it will turn. Whether that's right it open to debate and we will see.
We are all different and some get more despondent than others when we lose and have different expectations of where this squad is capable of finishing in this league.
Personally I think each year we are out of the bottom 3 is an achievement. Bolton, WBA, Stoke, Fulham, Portsmouth etc were all "established" prem clubs, as we are now. As they do now, we will look back on this period in 10 years time as a "golden era" in our history and regret we didn't enjoy it more at the time.
And the deceased pan goes in turn flying over yours.
When we win the FA. Cup. - Waiting for the Miracle.
If you Don't fancy coming straight back from Stamford Bridge. - Chelsea Hotel.
I could go on, at least now I am single again, I can get to all the matches. - Ballad of the Absent mare.
I nearly gave you a like for your perception of Leonard Cohen but you spoiled it by dissing Dylan. Next you will deny the greatness of Velvet Underground.
If there was an unlike button you would have got it. A double Dylan diss. He was the best (with Dougal) on Magic.
I agree with TUT. We need people who are positive and also negative. Most of us are a mixture but if some tend towards one extreme it is probably down to their personality in life. If we all thought we should just sit and clap and not criticise then changes that are needed would be slower to come.
Stats schmats. He's ******* useless and should go. He's also arrogant.
Nearly gave you a like for your defence of Dylan, but then you went and spoiled it by endorsing the arty, craphouse tedium of the Velvet Underground. Next you'll be saying that Bowie is not an overrated hebephile.
Bowie is an underrated hebephile clearly - doh.
Go on tell me Lou Reed is not almost as much a god as Marc Bolan
Marc Bolan made some catchy ditties, but his lyrics are imbecilic in their childlike nonsense.
Get back to your synthesizer.
Next you will decry the brilliance of the Monkees or early Beatles - "she loves you, yeh, yeh yeh" Sublime
Before I fully critique this 'statement': I want to be certain that we are talking about the same 'Velvet Underground' - the one that had Lou Reed and John Cale as members?
I am late to return to this party, although I apparently started it.
Cohen > Dylan
Roxy > Bowie
Velvet Underground = meh
I am tempted to say Monkees > Beatles but that might be a step too far. They were fab, though.
You missed Boney M > Cohen
Boney M > ABBA?
(No, don’t be silly).
Well I would hope so!
Weren't some of his goals from penalties? Does distort his contribution a little bit.
In the PL. Plus one memorable one in the Cup! So two of the eleven were pens.
Is that all?! Refs hate us.
Speak to HB1 about it!
Won't be about for several weeks due to a minor op on his knee.
