    Agreed with the battle-hardened element, but at no point in the Championship since pre-Pozzo has the goal at the start of the season been avoiding relegation (this season perhaps it should have been, but Pozzo seemed to think we should be looking at promotion)

    Chak was remarkably resilient physically this season considering his past injury record, perhaps Baah was brought back too soon considering it was a recurrence of the same injury

    Cleverley had plenty of critics as a player, many on here and Twitter. He’s exactly the type of player we need now - a 25/26 year old Cleverley would be ideal.

    Simply put squad size & quality of squad. It was a very youthful squad & a thin squad. Once the main man in most positions was out there simply was not the requisite quality to replace them. And even the young players that do have promise & who will in time be very good players like Baah, Vata, Dwomoh, Keben, Doumbia have hardly played first team football at this level before. I think Tom did as well as could be reasonably expected with the squad he was given. It is no coincidence we stumble after the January window as the club does not invest correctly even when in the PL & the summer dealing is also poor guided as it is by Gino's agent chums & his own immense belief in himself as a scout of the first rank.
