I would definitely prefer him to leave, but Pozzo staying wouldn't be a total disaster, as long as he completely stepped back from recruitment and hiring/firing managers. Even if next season isn't a promotion season, we need time to develop a style and actually recruit players and a manager for it

I'm not keen on US owners but if Elton could ensure that we get the right ones and they're in it for sport rather than their own profit, that's the best of the options listed.

 

At least the Venkys have money, from what I understand the Blackburn fans have kind of softened on them as at this stage they inexplicably continue to keep the club afloat despite having debts bigger than ours even

 

I think Garbelia has a point, Papa Pozzo took a step back from Udinese and they are thriving, although the task for us is harder with the excrutiating levels of debt

 

I'm now at the point when I think it might be worth just putting the club out of it's misery and flogging the stadium off for affordable housing.

That’s almost what I think is going to happen next season. SD to only run the commercial and day-to-day running of the club with Manga running the entire football side of things.

Will Gino let them just get in with it? That’s the biggest concern for me, but the fact he employed a proper technical director leads me to think there is a plan to change. But time will tell if that’s how it really pans out.

 

The Venkys employed an idiot who knew nothing about football to make their footballing decisions. Once they got rid of him they didn't get back what they'd lost but did arrest their decline.

How lucky we are not to have an idiot making Watford's footballing decisions.

 

EJ would need to put together a consortium of wealthy investors. He alone is worth about £400 million, nowhere near enough to finance a buyout and significant upgrade on the clubs performance over the last four seasons.

I think we can only hope that some mystery billionaire fancies buying the club.
