Do you want to still be here next season?

I am not really bothered if they all go.

Literally none of them worth a light to me.

I would like Louza, Dennis, Sarr, Kamara, Pedro and Samir to be here next season but realistically we would be lucky to keep any more than two of them!

With any sense of realism? Maybe Joao Pedro and Kamara might remain. Would be okay with Sissoko in the Championship too.

Wouldn’t be gutted to see any others leave.

(Have left out the players who obviously won’t stay)

Sieralta WTE Kabasele Cathcart all championship standard JN kamara Massina Kiko you never know they could have a great defence that wins promotion and we wouldn’t need to upgrade it for another push at premier league survival. Oh and Morris too

Probably listing all the players most likely to be sold or moved on to raise funds there.

    Who I "want" to stay

Dennis, King (championship could be his level for goals), Sarr, Sossoko, Kamara, Samir, Kalu.

Who I "think" will be here regardless

WTE, Cathcart, Masina, Gosling, Fletcher, Bachmann, Elliot, Kiko, Morris, Gino, Duxbury.

Well keep the ones who know they’re not good enough for the premier league anyway and are just happy to take the bumper Gino contracts.

I'd probably keep Kiko, Samir, N'Koulou, Kamara, Sierralta, Ngakia, Louza, Etebo, Pedro and King but if it means having to play the majority of them in the PL again if we got promoted I'd probably get rid of them all other than Louza and Pedro.

  9. RS2

    RS2 Squad Player

I'd be disappointed to lose JP, I think he's on the verge of becoming a very good player. Although he'll probably have a better chance of doing that at another club. Also Cucho just because I love the little tyke.

    Everyone else can go.

I wouldn't want to keep many in all honesty. JP, Cucho, Louza, Kamara, Samir, Etebo, FS, Ngakia. Mainly due to the age and we can get seasons out of them. We will be getting Zinckernagel, Pollock and Tom Dele back.
From the OAP's only Sissoko I suppose but we all know it will still be flooded with ageing players that we can't shift.

Starting - Kamara (fingers crossed), Sierrelta, Kabasele (I still rate him if he can stay fit), Kiko, Ngakia, Louza , Sissoko (maybe wishful thinking he'll play in the champ), King

Squad / Back up - Dele-Bashiru, Pinnock (although, could probably use another loan vs being a back up), Zinckernagel, Baah, Fletcher

    Maybe Kayembe

Of the people I want to stay Cucho, Sarr, JP and Dennis will go. The rest are just fodder

12/13 players, at an absolute push, of which 5 should be starting most games. An absolutely damning inditement of our recruitment

Yeah I think that is a BIG push. We don't have any evidence that TDB, Pinnoc (who?), Baah or Fletcher can do anything for us. I'd say Zinc is a reasonably proven attacking midfielder at Champ level. I'd agree that the others are probably champ level, though whether they're all promotion material, I can't be sure.

  14. poakley

I'd be ok with Fletcher as a 2nd or 3rd choice striker

But overall, yeah, that mini squad could challenge for the playoffs. However, we'd still need to bring in close to 10 players which we know will cost the square route of f'ck all. Bleak

    Assuming we're in the Championship...

Kamara, Femenia, Masina, Nkoulou, Ngakia, Samir, Sierralta, Etebo, Kayembe, Louza, Sissoko, Baah, Cucho, Dennis, King, Pedro, Sarr.

And Kalu, out of morbid curiosity.

I'd like us to get rid of Masina and get a younger 'understudy' to Kamara in - give them minutes in the Championship. We know Masina is hopeless in the PL so we may as well get rid.

I'd definitely get rid of Nkoulou too, dreadful signing and won't be fit for us.

The rest I agree with but there's no chance we will keep Sarr or Dennis.

Dennis and Sarr will not be here.

    So in goal probably Okoye

Defence. Ngakia Samir Kamara plus a new centreback or Sierralta.

Midfield probably minus Sissoko , Kayembe and Louza plus Asprilla.

Upfront Cucho and Pedro. Kalu in the OAP shelter.

Get rid of the older cadre as well and search the pyramid for talented youngsters. We need to get away from retaining older over the hill players on long contracts. We may have some money to spend so have it spent wisely. There are players out there. We should have gone for Johnson when at Lincoln, Bowen when at Hull. Our scouting or probably recruiting is appallingly bad. Why not go down the scientific data analysis route as well.

At his age, I’d bet there’s a far bigger chance we keep Sissoko and Louza goes. Probably on loan or back to France for less than we paid.

Personally I'd get in a manager and ask him who he requires to play a standard of football he wants. Wierd I know but I've heard it's works.

Dennis and Sarr are clearly our two best players and will likely be sold.

Samir might go back to Udinese. Sema also. Masina could also be sold back to Italy.

Bachmann will be sold if not made first choice again. Foster perhaps retiring.

I reckon there's a decent chance everyone else could stay. Not saying it's what I'd want, just what is realistic.

As long as we keep João I'll be satisfied. I just don't really like any of the side. Kamara is good and looks like he wants it, the rest... not too fussed.

Expect us to make exactly the same mistakes again.

Anybody over 30 except Sissoko can go. All the rest I would be happy if they stayed. Sarr will leave even if we stayed up. Not a chance Dennis stays. Not sure about players like Cucho, Samir or Kamarra
I forgot about Masina. He can definitely go

He was only on loan there but yes a good young player who would be more suited than a load of over 30s or cheap overseas players.

Bowen cost West Ham £22mil from Hull - don't imagine we'll be spending anywhere near that kind of fee on a player when we're in the Championship.

There are players I’d like rid of - but we ultimately will need to face facts that in the Championship, some of them will be okay/good enough.

It’s when we believe they are good enough for the PL and keep them hanging around that becomes a problem. I don’t like Masina. Never been good enough for the PL - but we can’t escape that he was in the Team of The Season when we came up.

I don’t think this club/owner has the balls for a complete gut-check about the squad and relegation means some players who shouldn’t be given more opportunities will undoubtedly get them.

I thought he would have been a good buy in 2018 and the fees quoted at the time were around six to seven million. He had another great season after that which persuaded West Ham to come in for him. We do miss out on far too many players. Other clubs do pick up talent from down the pyramid.

Wilmot was not developed properly. Fingers crossed Baah and Pollock turn out a little differently.

WTE is going to end up playing a lot and not being just as sh*t, so in the unlikely chance we go back up, we won't invest in a new CB due to his 'upturn in form'.

  32. Knight GT

If we go down the aim will be to go straight back up and we need to be better prepared next time for the Premier League if we do go up. If Kamarra leaves then it might be different but Masina is one I would look to move on.

Wilmot has played fairly well for a middling Stoke side. I think we sold him too cheaply but he just isn’t very good in the air and can only play in a back 3.

  34. lowerrous

Wilmot was never going to be good enough for what we needed.

I'll give you credit though in that Bowen was an incredibly rare instance of one of your transfer suggestions having been a good call. No idea though if even if we'd have got there earlier they would really have accepted such a low figure.
