What Would It Take To Have Faith In The Ownership Again?

Put the first team squad first, always.

Any purchase of a player should be with the first team in mind. Do we need this player? Will this player make our team better?

No issue buying players that you can sell for a profit but the primary reason for purchase should because the first team needs the player and will benefit from them.

Run the club so that promotion from the championship isn’t essential for the clubs survival, identify a manager who may will be in a job already and give them a full season, by all means sack them at the end of the season if it doesn’t look like it’s going to plan, but don’t sack them after few games or because they’re ‘only ‘ in the playoffs.

 

IMHO the 'lessons learned' guff was cynically disingenuous. They definitely believed we would go straight back up and then survive this season, so they could trumpet how 'learning lessons' had led to furthet success.
After the fiasco of this season that has all been blown out of the water, so I do not expect to hear anything about such lesson-learning from them this time.

Get a Director of Football who actually understands football
Get an academy to be proud of
Organise an evening with Gino and only Gino
Take advice on managerial appointments
Do not deal with Mogi Bayat

 

Great point.
I go to lots of games, home and away, so I invest a lot of time and money supporting the club. But it’s only the first team I’m interested in, so only the players who actually appear in it. In recent times, taking an interest in young players arriving or being in the U-21s has been pointless. Even the odd one who has made a first team appearance has subsequently disappeared. On top of that we now have random Africans bulking out the squad, sometimes on the bench but hardly ever appearing. Who knows if they are any good? Whether they are or not, they certainly haven’t contributed to making the team better so what’s the point of them being here?

 

To everyone suggesting Mogi Bayat has to go, is it a deal breaker? Or just a ‘would be nice’?

As I think you might be disappointed.

 

My main concerns

a) why are we comfortable with having such close ties to a person with a serious pending upcoming court case
b) does the interaction limit our ability to deal with any other agents/intermediaries, and thus limit our player pool.
c) are we paying Bayat at the same time as another agent for our transfers? If so, why?

I suppose I could be made comfortable on the above points, but I can’t imagine Duxbury or Pozzo taking time to answer then any time soon. Would love a supporters committee person to ask - don’t think the points are unreasonable/confrontational.

 

Decent burgers at a reasonable price…can put up with the fact that the squad is imbalanced and toxic, the managers don’t care, the CEO lies, we treat our Crown Jewels like shiite, we will be bankrupt if we don’t go up but I will rip up my ST if the burgers don’t improve

 

My suggestion is a trip to Five Guys on your way through the high street...

In all seriousness. We need a top down change.
We need a manager not a head coach. That manager needs to be given time,authority and resources to recruit and build a decent squad.
We need an improvement in communications between club ownership and fanbase.

 

Who are you and why do you want to know Mr. seven messages in 9 years? State your purpose.

 

Even a happy clapper like myself has very little faith left in the Pozzo. As others have said, I would like to see the financially stable model we were promised revisited. They just binned that off completely when the Premier League dollars started rolling in.

Additionally I would like to see transfer funds diverted towards the construction of a large lake or even a small sea on the edge of Watford.

That would at least be a START.

Stop Duxbury before he appoints himself Director of Football (already throwing I phrases that sound like his auditioning for it).

Formulate an identity and playing style that you believe in and articulate that plan clearly to the fans, media whoever so that we can get behind it, and when the inevitable bad run happens we don't all call for the coaches head.
Find a manager that fits your plan and recruit around him, remove the power of the players - we see how poisonous it is when they have too much power.

Lastly concentrate on being successful on the pitch, not brand Watford. Brand Watford does not exist without on pitch success (watch the deals for the exec boxes next season as an example of this) nor will businesses want to be aligned with a football club that looks like a basket case

 

Nothing they can do at this point, the Pozzo project has run its course

 

The situation as I see it…

The Pozzos have created a situation where recruiting the right manager who has long term views will prove difficult. They have created a squad that was totally unbalanced and will be impossible to keep together for a promotion push next year. More players want out than want in. They have racked up a debt that is only sustainable with the Premiership money but, in my belief, we have zero hope of a quick return. Their PR catastrophes and lack of communication has disenfranchised the fans

so all of the above needs to be corrected.
