Us oldens will always know it as Baileys.. the nightclub that hosted the legendary end of season players nights back in the day. In the 70's/80's Elton would entertain the players and staff and some of them would return the favour.. such as this occasion when Steve Harrison did his impression of the chairman.. I wonder how many of the youngsters who frequent the place these days have any idea of it's illustrious past. PS For your quiet night (is that tonight?) you could do worse than to pop down the Red Lion or No.8 as it's known these days. The food has been getting rave reviews and it does have a pool table i believe. That way you would have done two iconic wfc venues in one visit. https://www.facebook.com/No8Watford/
Nearly 5 quid a pint and closes at 9:30pm (all according to their FB page anyway)....can't imagine them wowing the punters back with that.
I'm even an older olden, I used to go there when it was called the "Top Rank" I think there were a couple more reincarnatioms , but I can't remember if they were before or after it was called Baileys, and they were "Paridise Lost", and I'm not sure if I have got this wrong, but I think it was also called "The String of Pearls", but that might have been somewhere else?
That's even worse, that's 1:30pm there...pub Hope to goodness not, it would mean they are open 2 and a half hours a day. Of course, that's exclusivity for you....might work in Soho, not so sure along Vicarage Rd
Cant be right can it? I mean closing 9.30. I saw they had a post match party in there last night with a live band and everything. Cant have been on for more than a couple of hours!
Thanks for all the advice but I've decided to enjoy myself spending 4 hours in Belfast Airport.... Sent from my G3311 using Tapatalk
So did you arrive in Watford in the early hours? and where did you end up on your shortened weekend in Watford? PS Pleased for you that the game went ahead.
