A good day all round: Fulham got into the play-offs, so they were happy, too; so everybody celebrated on the pitch together.

 

Wettest day? Southampton away a couple of years ago was wet wet wet and Watford were dire dire dire. But away at Wigan at their old ground, whatever it was called, it was as if someone was pouring a bucket of cold water down your neck. Old school open terrace with giant floodlights pylon right next to us and a thunderstorm started overhead and Watford were 3 (?) goals down in half an hour. My daughter's teeth were chattering and we abandoned the weekend and made for a slap-up meal in Deansgate, Manchester, to warm her up.

 

For the wettest and crrrrappest away day, I'd like to nominate Chelsea away on Saturday November 1st 1986.

The away end was entirely open in those days and it lashed it down all day, but saved the biggest downpour for the 90 mins of the most boring 0-0 draw of all time. The crowd was 13,334 (for a first division match), but despite the lack of the oh-so loyal chelsea supporters who'd bothered to turn up, they still kept us in there for about an hour after the final whistle.

By far the loudest song of the afternoon was our pleading "Let us out, let us out, let us out!".

Anyone else go to that one?

 

Massive game today and we’re gonna need a big performance . On Tuesday night I thought we had probably blown 7th place but win today and we’re right back in it . No **** ups it gifs to wolves today please !

Will be interesting to see how Javi sets up and whether he goes it the usual formation or tries something different

Well, there you have it, we've officially blown it.

The last few weeks have been littered with absolutely ridiculous mistakes that have completely derailed our league season. We can't keep a clean sheet to save our lives.

Oh well, was always too good to be true.

 

Season over. We're useless when it's in our hands.

Would predict us to lose all of our remaining games now sadly

 

Why Javi went 3 at the back I don't know...we never looked like building any sustained pressure.

 

Very frustrating when the team/fans gets let down time and again by the most experienced players. Hope those ****s get smashed by some Kazakh or Faroe Islander team.

 

Absolutely no idea what that was all about. We looked pretty comfortable and were probably the better team at that point.

 

Oh dear, Benny...Big mistakes absolutely costing us massively

 

We were the better team for almost the entire game up until we took Hughes off and switched the formation. Given that Hughes wasn't injured and we were pretty much on top I'm not sure why the coaching team through the change was needed.

Unfortunately Foster has cost us, again. He chose a pretty bad time to start dropping regular clangers.

There is no doubt about it though: we've thrown away 7th with a collection of farsical individual errors at this point. Foster, Deeney, Cathcart, Foster again. Insanity.

We were the better team for the first 30 mins of the second half, then Gracia took Hughes off. Bizarre decision and completely took away our momentum.

 

Shame but 7th is still in our hands!!11

 

I'd like to applaud Success for a telling contribution again.

We're going to get murdered in the Cup Final, if recent performances are anything to go by.

Getting a good idea of who needs replacing in pre-season. Can't see Gino spending more than we get in. Hopefully I'm wrong, but this summer will be telling regarding how ambitious the owner is.
Haven't been this pissed off after a match for a long time.

 

I've tried defending him for a while but he is sh**e. Needs moving on in the summer, if anyone will take him.

He's gone from looking semi-effective in the first quarter of the season to looking like someone who won a competition to play Premier League football.

 

Who'd rather have the cup final now then, eh?

 

Feel sorry for Capoue. Awesome effort all match for nothing.

If the rest of the team had shown the same energy and commitment we would have won that easily.

 

New chant idea for last game of the season:
