    It certainly wasn't what I expected from Everton. Whenever I've seen Everton youth, they've played against higher quality opposition and they've been as dirty as they come. Constant horribly aggressive, cynical, straight-red-deserving tackles that injure the opposition, knowing that refs almost never give straight reds at this level.

    It was so strange to see how they played against us.

    Their number 2 made a few late challenges particularly on Grieves in an attempt to bate him to retaliate as he was on a yellow. Ref was ok but did seem to give a few to Everton but that could be my bias.

    It's been a while obviously since I'd have seen him play, but they both have a slightly ungainly but powerful running style.

    It was free entry to season ticket holders too, so my son and I went along.

    Cleverly, Gosling, Troost, Pollock and Morris were three and we had Girialta sitting next to us too. Around 600 turned out.

    An enjoyable evening.

    “The draw for the FA Youth Cup 5th Round has given #watfordfc a home tie against either Newcastle or Arsenal (who play this Tuesday at 7pm). Fifth round ties are to be played by February 11”
