I know, you can't have an opinion on a forum without a bit of incoming. All I'll say is please quote what I wrote when we play them on April 21st.
Tbh if we are still in contention for the play offs by then will be delighted . And if they just worry about Baah then we have 10 other players plus subs to throw at them . TBH until the penalty incident thought he was having another quiet game . I mean fair enough if the return was soon but things could be very different by then.
The past three seasons combined we had only 6 penalties . This season already we’ve had 6. The more I have watched yesterday’s today, the more I’m happy we weren’t lucky. While the initial contact was outside the box, it continued onto the line, and under the rules that’s a penalty.
I fear the fact it’s an away match full-stop will no doubt probably be our undoing, whatever the carry on from yesterday!
Sadly not. I will be watching this Sunday’s match all day tomorrow. Belated HC by the way. Good to see you posting this week.
You sound like most of the Pompey fans… “Wait till he gets down to Fratton” “He won’t fancy it down here” I think he’s gunna be ok chaps!
I thought Baah's celebration was unwise but brief, and no more deplorable than the celebrations sometimes when a goal is scored at the opposing fans' end. What could have set things off was the Pompey no.24 grabbing Baah after his little dance. As far as I'm aware the ref didn't even speak to him but he was certainly worth a card.
But you know what happens when we have a boo boy on the opposition team. He generally tears us a new ********.
There was a rumour that some of the 'stick' Baah faced crossed the line into racial abuse. Portsmouth have been accused of similar behaviour earlier this month https://www.skysports.com/football/...-assistant-referee-during-draw-against-oxford The linesman in the above article was also running the line in yesterday's game coincidentally.
Yet how many players do you see score and celebrate in front of opposition fans and they don’t get booked. Baah was booked because of the Portsmouth players reaction, not because of what he did
I think his ‘body armour’ undies may have been overtight. Only reason I can think of as to why a grown man would squeak so loudly.
Fair enough. I'm generous enough to say he was better against Pompey than he was at Burnley when he was back to his grim worst. I just think that both Festy and Andrews offer so much more than our little boy lost (at times) Jezza. Andrews showed so much more in his spell and I'm not always a fan of his either!!
My lads don't think I'm right but I'm sure there manager went up to baah had a word and pushed him before he got the red card I'm sure there manager is not allowed to do that
Yes I also think he'll be fine, but their whole team will be as up for it as when they play Southampton. I'll say no more until I do the match preview in April.
I have to say Pompey’s players, supporters and John Mourinho seem to have taken this very badly. Some of the tears and tantrums I’ve seen online are hilarious. Mousinho’s comments to BBC radio are pretty funny - just look at his eyes. He’s trying to palm it off but you can tell he’s rattled. https://x.com/dangeorgee/status/1872661894005412187?s=46&t=qFijTl8p6GEIQgszT0gwYA For what it’s worth I do think @Diamond has a point too. Fratton Park is one of those old traditional grounds where fans are close to the action, and as we’ve seen with the likes of Zaha over the years football fans don’t forget. Baah will get a lively reception but TC needs to make sure he rises above it.
I have never understood the need to remove their shirt to celebrate, and knowing that it will result in a yellow card, some of them are still stupid enough to do it.
Same for me. I went to every home game but one last season, only two home wins and I missed one of those.
