7.45 Saturday kick offs are ridiculous. I spent almost the whole of the second half slagging off louza having been totally oblivious to his goal. Didn't realise it was 2-1 until about 80 mins!

That's a bugger, I have a date next Sunday when the Watford V Luton match is on, as I think we didn't have a chance.

Yes for once we did restrict their chances although Pukki got past Cathcart a few times out wide .

Much better, far more attacking intent and glad to see the sideways tippy tappy rubbish at the back seems to have been halted. Bachman still worries me from corners/crosses but the back 4 looked pretty efficient in the main. Cathcart and Gosling did pretty well. Midfield looked very strong and with JP to come in will get better assuming Louza doesn't get a ban. Davis looked shot for the last 20 mins but got his goal. Sarr was fantastic. Maybe Bilic has told him to run at defenders, something we all wanted to see, his best game since he tore Taggart apart v Villa last season. Can we kick on? I hope so. The fact we are 5 points off top, considering the turmoil ,injuries etc shows this league is anybody's, if we show the same application as last night we can be in the mix come season end. COYH.

Well being consistently among our top 3 players for 3 years, averaging close to 1 in 3 goals per game from the wing AND a Player of the Season award all while only trying 40%.

His true level must be astounding, if he ever finds it the Ballon D’Or will be locked in for the next decade.

    £30m was a snip.

Being (arguably) top 3 at a ****** club during 2 relegations and averaging (I haven't checked but I doesn't sound right) 1 in 3 in the Championship does not a 30m player make.

was interesting , last game we played out from the back when hoofing it was the sensible option, wonder if they have been told that we don’t have the defence to Fanny around , if in doubt clear it

Have to say though Mick McCarthy was spot on with most of his commentary , also sounded like he fancied the job, lots of comments like I would love to have inherited that squad , very complementary about asprilla , Sarr and JP , louza

choudhury is an odd one , sometime he looks good, sometimes he misses the tackle by half an hour , does def run around though

Sarr spot on , if Bilic can make him believe and tells him just to run through the defence he will be twice the player he has been, however needs to stay on his feet more.

Sema I think is actually very good at this level , when he has the ball we normally get a cross in, plus when he gets in the box he normally puts a decent shot in

Close to 1 in 3 in his entire Watford career, better than 1 in 3 in the Champo (17 in 48).

Everyone has their own interpretations of what they see, but to me Sarr’s performances (and stats and transfer fee) are those of a lower mid table PL winger who has good games and bad games like all footballers and who suffered from a bad injury (our results last season during his injury emphasise the impact it had).

I find spinning his good performance last night where we badly needed one into a criticism to be unduly negative.

    Each to their own.

If you're happy that his lack of effort has seen us descend into a mid table championship side, a side where he rarely stands out, then good for you. I find that unduly delusional.

I saw him do stuff yesterday that he's neglected to do in all but 2 or 3 games for us. Maybe it's as simple as the change of right to left, but also, hard to accept we've had 3 seasons of mediocrity from someone capable of what he showed in that first 45.

A good win but I feel we will have to be a lot sharper against the better teams in the division.

Having now seen Davis' goal in a slow motion replay from the goal line side, I am convinced Asprilla was indeed intending to pass to Davis rather than scuffing a shot. His gaze is tracking Davis before he even strikes the ball, and continues to track him as he strikes it. I think he just hit it a bit harder than he intended to due to being off balance.

I agree that choudhury and Kayembe are a bit of an enigma so far. Choudhury does some good stuff breaking up play but then he's jogging around aimlessly looki g like he hasn't got the legs.
I do think here's a player in Kayembe but after his great game v Stoke followed by 2 duds I wonder if the truth is simply that he's basically an advance midfielder who is poor defensively and poor receiving out balls from defence (hence his howler last week)?
I think he could play better in an advanced Sema type role.?

Also genuinely the most one-footed player I can recall ever seeing, and compounds it yet further still by having never found any way in his playing career to date of compensating for it at all. He moves the ball slowly, and only ever with the most orthodox method of striking using his strong foot, with all the time and space that requires. Coupled with his astonishing lack of spatial awareness and who is around him, it's more like some kind of performance art than professional football, and given that he's playing immediately in front of our wobbly af defence, damaging to the point of criminal negligence.

Feel like 'great' game against Stoke is extremely charitable, also, tbf.

One thing I noted on Saturday was how Louza and Asprilla always pass the ball in front of their intended target allowing the player to continue their forward path which helps us attack at greater speed. Kayemebe's passing is always direct to a player or behind them thus stopping the forward momentum. It's little things like that that make better players
