Out of interest, which were they?

Again there’s some wild statements in here.

Rose has been awful. He had a couple of decent turn-outs…but from Liverpool onwards he’s been disastrous. He’s gone backwards massively since Ranieri arrived.

Etebo was not ‘outstanding’. He was useful and there was a good starting point for him to build from. No more, no less.

Louza has been tremendous lately - and he’s also been anonymous lately. As shown by Ranieri dragging him at HT.

We do have a good front 3 - and they are in better form than many. But you have tasked me to name ‘better’ not ‘better form’…so Spurs have better, Chelsea have better, United have better. But we agree King has been good so that’s irrelevant anyway.

What has Tufan shown that suggests he’s ‘clearly got the potential to be a huge player’ for us?

I also have no problem with them investing for the future - but it’s very problematic if that investment detracts from why we can spend now for what we are crying out for? It a a question of priority.

The main point with my replies is to take exception to your comment that ‘they have all been superb’. Because no offence, but that’s nonsense.

I thought he was very good against Norwich. I thought he was our best player agaisnt Leeds and was man of the match for me against Palace.

Probably don't disagree with that, but in the eternal sense, it's the 'what conclusion can you draw from a performance against Norwich' conundrum.

    I quote:

I don’t know why anyone is moaning about our recruitment.’

Well, it was their opinion was it not? And you felt compelled to question it, so I’ve only done the same in return.

You must be joking? Let’s pick one at random. Kane/Son/Moura. I can’t believe I’m having this conversation to be honest!

Fair, Palace was a cup game which is always a bit hmmm, and from my (rare) view from the SEJ he seemed both quite good and quite bad at times - Leeds we were abysmal and he was one of the best of a horrid bunch, fairplay, but it's also fair to say that Leeds were themselves pretty abysmal, and didn't exactly give him a taxing time.

Regardless, no one's really disputing the quality was once there, and can be occasionally spotted in glimpses as the veil is momentarily lifted once more, but the real and definitive problem is the visibly-affecting lack of professionalism in remaining so overweight/unfit at this point in the season, which has helped to contribute to a series of awful and still-diminishing performances (punctuated by a period where he managed to lose his spot permanently to Adam 'I'm fuccking terrible' Masina, lest we forget) and culminating in the disasterclass yesterday that was all about his attitude, mentality and decision-making (which was itself a throwback to decisions like the inexplicably lazy and stupid penalty giveaway at Arsenal).

Let's also not forget that even in his high water mark in our free hit against the Championship side Norwich City, he fairly clearly should have given a penalty away through clumsiness/stupidity, again, but somehow managed to get away with it, IIRC.

Rose has only played in the Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City games since Liverpool all very good opposition in fairness. I can't remember the Arsenal game from the top of my head, he was terrible yesterday but decent against Chelsea.

If you're offering Spurs as another example of a game he played well in, I cannot speak as I will freely admit it is the one game this season I have not been able to watch in any capacity.

Don’t get me wrong I think our front 3 are dangerous but your original comment and even your revised position is absurd in my opinion.

Are you feeling ok Lloyd, you haven’t been recruited by the FTRE lot have you?

Or has Duxbury hacked your account?

If we recruit some decent defenders and stop chucking the ball in the back of our net then maybe, maybe our decent front line will get the credit that they deserve?.

In my lowly opinion our recruitment has been exactly what you’d expect it to be - some excellent, some good, some average, some terrible.

Unfortunately none of the excellent or good was on a whole area of the pitch where we arguably needed it the most.

Therefore it doesn’t really matter how good our recruitment has been, it could very easily all be undone by neglecting that one area.

Hang on, one of those is from Wolves who are the lowest scorers in the Prem after Norwich.

However, if you look at the league table and compare our goals per game with the teams the other players you've listed come from (which is a pretty good measure of how good our front three is compared to the rest) then the rest of your post is accurate - but Spurs despite having Kane/Son/Moura have scored fewer goals per game than us, so Lloyd's later statement about us having the best front 3 after the big 6 is not far off the mark - it's the 8th best according to the table.

Far more to it than that. Form. The way the teams are set up. Expected goals. I’m not sure too many football fans in general would take King/Dennis/Sarr over Jimenez/Hwang/Adama. I’d probably take Sarr over Adama. But the other 2 Wolves players would be superior over an extended premier league sample in my view.

This is the Watford forum however so through that prism Dennis is already worth £70 million, just as
    Sarr was before him.

In any case the post that got me to reply was the notion we were 3rd best behind Man C and Liverpool. If the post had simply said we have one of the better premier league front 3 after the big 6 I wouldn’t have disagreed strongly enough to reply.

Not much to 'hang on' about...

Go back to the original point - it wasn't said that we have the most 'in-form' front 3 outside City and Liverpool..not many, if any would have disagreed with that.

Lloyd simply asked anyone to name a better front 3 outside of City and Liverpool. The 'form' part wasn't involved.

I reckon we've currently got the best attacking options since the Pozzo's took over.

Sarr, King and Dennis are arguably a better trio than Deulofeu, Pererya and Deeney. Beyond that I would take Pedro and Cucho over Gray any day of the week!

Personally I think the KDS are easily as good as the MSN in their peak years.
