WTE is okay at defending but I am not so sure about his passing out of defence. Another howler again. Something that will be punished without mercy in the PL. I think Sierralta is better on the ball and bringing it out. He has presence with it. We will certainly need to find a young CB comfortable with the ball at his feet and they are at a premium.

I'm genuinely surprised by how well Gosling has played in the last 2 games, and he carries a greater goal threat than most of our actual so-called strikers. If he were a better finisher he'd be getting 20 goals a season. I now admit I was very wrong about this signing.

Yesterday I drove in my yellow car with a black soft top to a tennis match.
I wore my black shoes with yellow laces,a yellow bandana and yellow and black kit.
I had my 1881 scarf flying from the window there and back and Lee,a very lovely Spuds fan asked me to pray for them v City!
Even my Zoom meeting went well.
    Very nice!

It was a compliment, and I agreed with him - Cleverley is consistent and a key part of our team. If you see anything else from that comment then I'm surprised.

Using a disagreement about a certain topic at the club to state that must mean you’re not a proper Watford fan has always been a very weird tangent to go down. Although I’m not at all surprised...

We have 2 , both of which are currently not playing, of which Wilmot has the most potential and could become an England player in the future. He is highly motivated to achieve and I expect him to leave for a club that will give him game time if we don't give him the chance to shine.

Wilmot isn’t yet ready to be a PL regular in my opinion. He needs to fill out a bit more. A season just like this one where he is a rotation option but at a higher level will do him no harm at all.

Decent recruitment is needed at CB. Still think we need one who is comfortable on the ball and capable of playing 38 games in a season if we can find that to play alongside Sierralta. WTE undoubtedly good enough to be a squad player and excellent mentality to have in the squad. Will he be disappearing to AFCON too - have Nigeria qualified?

I’d move Kabasele on now - maybe Cathcart too.

Sorry but once again you have misquoted or misunderstood to fit your agenda. What Deeney was saying was that Tom is is an honest, solid and reliable player who doesn't give you less than his best in every game. He may have been clumsy in his phrasing but that is what I felt he meant. I don't think Deeney always helps himself with some of his interviews but I don't believe he is trying to deliberately hurt the club which you seem to believe is the case.

I am totally baffled by your comment about real Watford and Deeney Watford. Personally I prefer it when we are Watford united. I think Duxbury said on Saturday we are a family. We might not all agree all the time but we all have the best interest of the club at heart.

I really wouldn’t bother. It was obvious what was meant about Cleverley to literally everyone bar one person. It wasn’t even said clumsily - was just viewed that way by someone who is desperately looking for things that aren’t there so making up stories to fit the narrative.

I think most people on here are fairly aligned in their views on Deeney now. His interview on Saturday was toned down and actually a glimpse of what he can be when he wants to be - a club captain who clearly cares about the club and its employees without letting his mouth run away from him.

But it’s time for a parting of ways - some of us wanted that last summer - but we can allow hindsight to creep in now with what we have achieved, and if it happens, I’m personally glad it will be done off the back of a successful season rather than the ignominy of failure like last season. His exploits for the club over the years deserve that much and he can go away saying he was captain of a club that got us back to the PL, however much he took part. Seems a fitting way to end.

(I do suspect he will be here next season though for one final year before his deal runs out.)

I don't even use orange spots or cones so the likelihood of me buying an orange car is nil!
Driving to visit my brother last year in Catfield I was passed by a ***** vehicle.
They were waving at me,but with only one digit!
I took great delight in overtaking them and 'waving' back!

I'm shocked by this!!! Some of them are now able to drive a car, rather than get about on a pony and trap.

Interesting seeing how the wind rolled the ball slightly just as Sarr took the penalty. Given that the ball rolled slightly to the right, I think Sarr was aiming for the left corner rather than down the middle as it transpired.

A bit of luck that went our way. It was our day.

When the ball is in the air he will not come out. During the Millwall game, he clearly calls "out, out", yet the ball is in the air and only 4yds out . This is his ball, but he doesn't want it.
On the ground, he has greatly improved. I do understand that he has a loud presence and that helps the team.
I am sure he will get a chance in the Premier league, but if Foster leaves, we will be looking for a new No1.

I agree to most of your comment.
Mariappa was unfortunately out of his depth. Try as he might, as good as he was with the Watford community projects, on the pitch he was woeful at times.
I am not a fan of his, most people know this. I am a fan of his work within the Watford family.
His performance/own goal at Brighton was his ' l'm finished here' moment in a Watford shirt. Just awful.
    Nice man though.

Yep, nothing worse than a keeper who can't command his area and stands frozen on his line.

He's a fantastic shot stopper and everything sticks to him, but I bet our defenders hate him.

Deeney isnt deliberately trying to hurt the club, but over the years he has deliberately carved out a position where he is above the manager and the other players and this season he appears to have also had a negative influence on the formation and playing style.

All the evidence shows that Deeney is a terrible leader. Up until the end of the first QSF season he was able to compensate for that by leading by example on the pitch. Once he lost his ability to perform week in week out under Mazzarri, his leadership and other deficiencies started to really show through. But by that point he was untouchable. An intrinsic part of Gino's banana republic leadership structure.

You said Troy's comments about Clevs were 'clumsy'. I disagree, I think they are part if a systematic pattern of behaviour to assert Troy's dominance over the other players which since the beginning of the Mazzarri season has been extremely counter productive and had a very negative impact on our club, ultimately leading to our relegation.

There are different types of intelligence. Troy may have a low IQ but his ability to manipulate and control the people around him has been exceptional.

I am astounded you don't see through Duxbury's 'family' comments. He was claiming the criticism him and Gino received was like a family disagreement. It wasnt, it was due to specific issues the fans had with decisions that were being made at the top of the club. He is trying to stifle dissent by saying we are all part of the same family. It's a manipulation tool he's using. He said promotion was his biggest achievement. Trying to claim the credit when promotion was achieved despite him and Troy not because of them.

Basically Gino assembled a brilliant championship squad but without a fit left back and with a terrible leadership structure. Mercifully Troy got injured and positive player power replaced Troy's negative player power. Our incredible players who had been held back by Troy's atrocious leadership flourished in his absence and THEY got us promoted under Cleverley and Nate's leadership but also with leaders all over the pitch.

That's my view, if u disagree thats fine. I know most people arent that interested in human psychology and leadership structures. But as far as I'm concerned I'm just stating the bleeding obvious. Look at what Dyche has achieved at Burnley. It's all about human psychology and leadership structures.

My favorite conspiracy theory of the season. Probably less than 1% chance of being true: Troy's injury against Cov wasn't that serious. Someone at the club faked the scan results and got him put in his 'special boot' to keep him away from the team long enough for us to get promoted.

I don’t remember people calling Cleverley and Chalobah great leaders and “incredible “ earlier in the season.

Funny what a good run does to people.

Cleverly played for Man U under SAF - surely no one more controlling and demanding than him?

He isn’t a baby like Pedro so should be able to put his own views across and input on the team.

No doubt a bad start to next season and they will be back to being called rubbish and past it .

TBH sounds more like the players were only happy when Ivic left (not just Deeney ) and Munoz was a breath of fresh air personality wise.

Did deeney eat your dog or something? It seems like it must be personal between you go two.

The evidence for him being a good leader is, I don't know, the fact he captained us throughout the entirety of the second most successful period in our club history.

The fact he has clearly dropped off now both on and off the pitch and needs to be replaced both as captain and as a squad member doesn't erase the near decade of success we saw with him as captain.

Cleverley has probably been our most consistent and hard-working player since the season began (along with Kiko).

We weren't playing very well at the start of the season, but we were in part hindered by lack of players, lack of fitness and a crap formation. Despite that, we still managed to grind out results and stay in the promotion mix and Cleverley was a key part of that.

I've consistently said cleverley is nowhere near good enough for the Premier league, and has been poor many times this season, most recently v Millwall.

Chalobah now looks back to being premier league class imo. But he has always had more potential than Cleverley, who has limited footballing ability in comparison.

I too have heard this from a very reliable source. The special boot was in fact made by aliens and is held together by a paste made from butterfly tears. The scan results weren’t faked as such but interfered with by someone manipulating the physio’s CV19 vaccine transmitters.
