Problem is that our defensive confidence is shattered, and it's making them even more gutless. Nobody wants to be the one making the mistake at the moment

Yeah it's got beyond a joke. It's going to kick off sooner or later, at which point I expect the club throw the book at a couple of Watford fans involved rather than address the problem.

I'm sure it won't do anything, but I'm going to email the club about it and would encourage everyone to do so. Sometimes a high enough volume can make organisations do something (it won't).

Apparently the stewards cannot kick them out unless they are doing something wrong like that Liverpool fan.

How ever the club also say don't give tickets to opposition fans.

But the stewards aren't going to see and hear people a few rows back. No one with an opposition hat / scarf / shirt should be allowed in for starters.

It's a joke. Roll on the championship and a lack of these t0ssers in the ground.

I thought they'd got on top of this and realised the issues it causes after the QPR promotion party debacle a decade ago?

I really don't think the stewarding is up to scratch these days either. It's seemingly manned almost exclusively by minimum wage, zero hours 18 yesr olds. There's a couple of pros running the show but the rest are mannequins in day-glo to fulfil whatever legal number they're required to have present. They wouldn't know how to challenge someone, let alone see any benefit for them in doing so.

Unfortunately, you are right. The club instantly jumped on it when they heard about a couple of spotty teenage Watford fans singing a chant about the length of Masina’s c***.

Nothing happens when a Chelsea fan jumps around celebrating in the SEJ as soon as they score though...

Luckily for those fans that sneek in to the home end, they know that most Watford fans & Club aren’t going to call them out for it and are happy to show their true colours without any repercussions.

And probably don't want to either.

Most just stand around watching and trying to sort out the turnstile ticketing situation!

thought v poor of MOTD .... punditry didn't give us a mention. Didn't discuss the penalty claim - didn't show in the highlights J.P's mazy run when the ref blew for free kick instead of allowing the clear advantage ...... And was hardly a bumper edition, they only had the 3 matches to show. The only plus side for me was that it didn't give Ian Wright licence to express that he thinks we are a bunch of crooks for not allowing Dennis to go to Mighty Afcon .....

It feeds into the media bias against Watford. It’s always been a thing.

Most suspect it, and this is just further evidence.

Do you think had that been Kane going down with Bachmann challenging like yesterday, no penalty would have been a result? Not a chance, but had no penalty been awarded, it would have been highlighted to death by the BBC and Sky.

It’s not a level playing field and never has been. Watford have to constantly battle against prejudice and bias.

Bachmann is a terrible GK that is average champ standard at best. He is the main reason we have lost so many games since Foster got injured. It doesn't matter how many defenders we bring in this month, if Bachmann stays in goal we will go down. He is the worst GK in the prem, by a long way

He doesn't inspire confidence in anyone, I'd hate to be a defender knowing that clown is behind you.

Bias against Watford? Or just playing up to the audience which will have far more Spurs fans watching?

It’s misguided because it’s supposed to be a ‘football’ show, not one that panders to bigger clubs. But we know how it is.

I think he knows his chance of multiple trophies has gone with the failure of the City move.
    Perhaps he's in decline,he's 29 now isn't he?

He appears to be greedy tbh. Hilarious how the Spurs fans welcomed him back like a hero despite him refusing to train and clearly wanting a transfer.

Very good point, the Spurs fans can sing he's one of our own all they like, he knows he's leave for silverware.

He is indeed, I cant see anyone taking a punt on him soon. Didn't he sign a contract this year?

Definitely truth to this. After Arsenal went down to 10 yesterday there fans could be clearly heard giving the ref dogs abuse. This is Arsenal fans. Famous library custodians. The commentary on the radio even mentioned how the ref seemed reluctant to give decisions against them after this.

City sold Torres for £55m, so they’ve got the money (well they’ve got it anyway, but they’ve got to vaguely try and comply with FFP) but if they've any sense they surely use it on Haaland not Kane.

He has young children and they're probably just reaching school age. He doesn't strike me as a natural linguist so abroad is out for both of the above!
Perhaps he has settled for breaking records rather than medals.

The 2 pundits Darren Lewis and Kevin Campbell are acting as judge and jury without the facts. Glad to note that Lewis, at least, acknowledges the Sky Sports coverage element involved. But the anti-Watford agenda over AFCON is being stoked up at the moment without any semblance of balance. The inflammatory tone taken by the Nigerian and Senegalese Football Authorities and their reactions to the Dennis and Sarr situations are strong on heat but not light as to what's happened. I think Watford have attempted in their responses on both to explain their Club's perspective emphasising dialogue in recent days/weeks with both. In Sarr's case especially, covering in detail the medical background too. I'd be the first to criticise the Club if the suggestion of disrespect towards AFCON and the retention of players against their will was the prime motivation behind this row.

Kevin Campbell isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer as a pundit. After saying Dennis went off a minute into the 2nd half he then says "Why? It's because maybe the football club are flexing their muscle to, to put him in his place. It makes no sense, it makes no sense to me." He has decided in his own mind what he thinks Watford must be doing (without actually knowing this) and suggests that this is a senseless strategy. Well yes, it is possible that's what has happened but maybe, just maybe, the substitution wasn't linked to AFCON...? Just a thought for Sky Sports to ponder on perhaps.

Interesting take on Ref Watch this morning. Spurs could have had 3 penalties. They showed the incidents. I've got to admit our defenders were being far too heavy handed with their players. WTE barges into Kane, although that may have been offside anyway. Masina grabbed Kane around the waste, and Kucka pulled Dier down. All three could have been penalties really.

The Pedro/Lloris coming together was probably a penalty also. So, were we hard done by, no, I think the referee was fairly consistent with his decisions.

Where he was wrong was to blow too early when Pedro was fouled. That denied a good opportunity for us. He made a mistake there.

Stephen Warnock thought the Kucka/Dier incident was a penalty. Sue Smith didn't think any were penalties. Dermott agreed with all the referee's decisions, although said he should have waited for a moment longer on the Pedro freekick.

Seems a far summary - if the pundits disagree it does show how subjective the calls were.

I guess at least the was "consistent" in not going to VAR for any of them unlike in the Arsenal/Man City game!

Of course someone from Spurs might have had a little word in the ref's ear at HT.

I can only presume he thought Pedro had lost the ball in that free incident.

Having watched the game last night and seen the way Watford lined up for that free kick, it left me feeling that Bachmann is worse than l had previously stated.
No Keeper at Premier level would allow the defence to set up within the six yard box.
Bachmann made no attempt to leave his line, call the players to move out before the kick was taken or make any attempt to bulldoze through Sanchez in order to punch the ball. He just stayed true to form, on the line and not moving.
The free kick as as good as awarding a penalty to Spurs, it was that easy to score.
That's our defence and it's all we have.
Will we get better players in January or just plaster over the cracks?
I don't think we will be opening a club shop in Africa any time soon..

I mean, it's been over fairly comprehensively in the various threads and with input from those who work in these fields - Samir is a better player than what we have.

Whether he's the right player or the best player or the ultimate answer is a different matter, and there's no doubt that it still raises questions about the Pozzo attitude to defenders and defensive recruitment, but just lumping all players from Udinese as 'swaps from our Italian first team' is pretty lazy and doesn't really achieve any kind of accurate, nuanced or fair assessment of the various players who have come from there over the years, and makes you look uniformly negative without being prepared to be anything else (and that's coming from me!).

    Yet he is from Udinese?
We have had some success from Udinese, but this also comes with some complete total dross.
Right now, we are in dire straits as a team. My concern is that we will carpet bomb European clubs for players and just sign anyone they don't want.
Yes, my messages are not normally positive all, l won't argue with that. I have been correct on many points, nothing to gain from that.
    Rose - going, going, go......
    Fletcher- never going to play
Pollock - never going to play
    Tufan-- waste of time
Bachmann - never off his line. Will be gone soon
Nigakia - never going to make it. Looks frightened when the ball is near him.
Let's see who we sign and on what the terms of the contract are.
    It will be interesting.
