I was listening on Talk***** and both commentator and co commentator thought it an entertaining game.

I'm not getting that feeling reading the comments here!

That's a good stat to pull out, thanks. I actually thought the other day looking at the league table that our points tally is more than respectable on a ppg basis.

I think LouOrns did some stats that showed our midfield pair is very lazy in terms of workload. Goodness knows what year 2 of the Sissoko retirement contract is going to look like!

I thought the second half was a good watch. Very frustrating though and some brainless decision making as another poster put it!

Yup. Awful. But one of many:

    - Andrews crossing every time like he's blind
    - Chak deciding to take 2 extra touches when he had a clear sight of goal and only the keeper to beat.
    - Sissoko constant hospital passes.
    - Ngakia deciding the 91st minute is the time for his non-existent left foot to shine.
    - Bayo thinking chesting the ball down in the middle of our box while defending a corner is a winning move.
    - Constantly giving away fouls and set-piece opportunities around our own box.
    - Kayembe trying stupid flicks and giving the ball away in promising positions.

And they're just the ones I can easily remember!

Yeah, when you think we finished last season as dross, and started this season as bottom 6 material - I guess TC has to try and believe he can make us better, and in real terms he has and now we just expect more.
He can't say at this point that our squad is not good enough, he hopes that gradually GP will trust him and provide funds to strengthen, but right now he's doing his best to improve the team whilst also raising his own stock.

Well second half was end to end.

Did Sam Parkin do the co-commentating - he would have enjoyed the first half as a QPR fan.

For us it was the usual fair.

If we weren't going well generally and it wasn't a favourite like Cleverley in charge people would probably ask more questions tbh.

That was very disappointing. We had our usual first half non-show , but I was hoping we would really take the game to QPR today. Our ponderous play seemed to give them confidence as the half wore on and QPR should have gone in at half time 2-0 up , if it wasn’t for their woeful finishing.

Second half was an improvement but we didn’t really get going until about the 70th minute . Could have had a couple but then qpr also had a couple of very good chances on the break . Ngakia got some minutes so I wonder if we’ll see him again for another few months ?

We are in a great position, but still need a proper no 9 and a championship hardened midfield general . If we can recruit those in the transfer window we could still be a decent side .

Yes it was. But, as has been pointed out elsewhere, we have a long unbeaten streak at home and are positioned much higher in the league table than many of us were predicting pre-season. The Championship throws up a lot of results and performances that are unexpected. I really thought we might blitz QPR, but they demonstrated very bad finishing to let us off the hook, as otherwise a good argument could be made that they should have won.
We got going better in the last stages of the second half, but it was too little too late and we also showed poor finishing.

Seeing them in the flesh for the first time this season, I would sum it up with the word frustrated. First half was very poor from our point of view. QPR should have been at least two nil up at half time. I thought the body language of Andrews and Kayembe was atrocious. They were playing badly, but didn’t seem to have the mental strength to get out of their respective downers. Sissoko was also disappointing. Second half was better from us, but we still could have lost it. I thought Louza, Baah, Chak, Vata and Festy were decent in the 2nd half.

Draw was a fair result overall. Getting rat arsed in Watford with my sons (who are more accustomed to heavy drinking sessions). We will be back in the new year to try and witness a win for the first time since 2019.

QPR missed some golden opportunities, we got into good areas but fluffed the final ball too often, Baah had his man on toast but couldn’t put in a good ball, Sissoko was particularly guilty of the same too

  19. Qpr fluffed a couple of good chances. We fluffed about a dozen chances of good chances. So draw about right.

We played the better football, they had the better chances.

Awful from Bayo today I thought.

    Giorgi needs to shoot.

Porteous has quietly been pretty solid.

    World-class save from Bachmann.

Larouci is a bit of a wimp, nothing player.

Give Tom a striker and we can do things.

One of the highlights for me was Porteous winning a free kick in the first half by rugby tackling the QPR attacker.

I really wish we'd sell Ngakia.

How many times does he kill our attacks by doing a brainless chop and shooting from miles out rather than passing to a player in a good position.

On the downside, poor performance and 2 dropped points after being outplayed by a relegation candidate.
On the bright side, having seen and photographed the smallest hummingbird in the world in Cuba (bee hummingbird) I have now seen and photographed the largest in the world in Chile (giant hummingbird).

Extremely poor performance. The only bright note was that QPR looked so poor in front of goal, they really are in the mix for relegation this season. It’s cheery thought, but no doubt three teams will conspire to be even worse and we will suffer then again next season.

Troy Deeney made a similar point on Talksport last week in as much as you are only as good
as your GK and no.9. Someone can do a job in all the other positions . Bachmann is adequate and
has earned his money recently after his episodes earlier in the season . Bayo is jogging about doing a job and is why we are so toothless up top . I fear that we are in the early stages of another very long goal drought.

And you could say that about a number of our players !

As we have discussed even Georgi can be wasteful.

Sissoko and Andrew too had silly shots or passes when well placed .

I thought Ngakia did ok but yes that shot at the end was wasteful .

    Awful performance all round.

Sissoko, Kayembe, Larouci and Giorgi in particular first half were dreadful.

The most striking thing yesterday was the decision making from nearly every player was abysmal.

Bachmann, Pollock, Porteous and Louza deserve credit. Bachmann saved us a point yesterday and two points on Tuesday - he’s on very good form.

Clearest chance of the game for us fell to Giorgi but he continued to show he’s allergic to end product.

Another concern , and a more serious one IMO , is that I have observed that Chak and Kayembe do not look to play an early forward pass to Bayo. This happens at every level from Dog and Duck reserves to CL when players don't think highly of another player i.e. I won't get it back, he'll lose it , take too many touches , the attack will slow down etc . Because dollars to doughnuts the players are having the exact same conversations as we are .

  30. Lubaduck

Another observation is that when Bayo has a defender 1 v 1 in the area , which is the holy grail, he doesn't have a trick to beat the player or at the very least a drop of the shoulder to shift the defenders body weight to create a yard of space to that he can get a shot underway.

Was probably just trying to smash it off Bayo with the hope it hit him and went in because we all know it wouldn't have if it went to Bayo's feet. At this stage we may as well play without a striker to be honest.
