Sad tale, I realised halfway through the first half that I had left my car lights on! which was confirmed by the person where I park my car, therefore decided to leave at half time and not risk a flat battery, it took me longer from my seat in the Rookery to get through the G.T. stand that it does at the end of normal games! (15 mins to walk to my car which started, no problem). Listened to 5 live on the way home, waiting for them to say " and we are off to Vicarage Road" which unfortunately they didn't, got home and saw the last 8 minutes! Bit of a shame all round really, checked my score predictions to find after 4 matches I have amassed the great total of 2 points!

Shame you never had eleven jumper cables for the team second half. Might of jolted some life into the team.

Oh dear. That was up there with Swansea away as atrocious performances go . I felt from the first couple of minutes that we were gonna lose with so many errors and misplaced passes .Porteous was the worse culprit so was quite rightfully replaced . We did have a decent spell just before the goal , but didn’t get going all after their second . I don’t think Cardiff had to do much to win today though they defended well.

Shame to lose the home unbeaten record , but we need a reaction vs QPR on NYD. Jebbison doesn’t seem to have any idea what to do when competing for an aerial ball, it looks quite comical at times. He doesn’t really look like scoring either.

I thought Louzza was decent again today though . Once him and Vata had gone off we didn’t really have much threat , though I can understand why he is resting those players so they can play a part in the next match. On the plus side , we’re still clinging on to that final playoff spot !

It would not surprise me at all if we did a "Boothroyd 08/09" and fluked our way to sixth place on the final day with a scrappy win of Sheff Wed at the Vic. Would go nicely to how inconsistent this division is this season. Yes I expect Leeds/Sheff Utd/Burnley to battle for the top two but out of the rest in the top ten it's anyone's game going into the second half of the season.

I think we've already used up a whole seasons worth of luck. I said to my QPR mate at the start of the season that we'll end up below them and I stand by that.

Abysmal all round. Wrong line up, wrong shape, wrong subs. Coupling TC’s mistakes with some truly dreadful individual showings (Kayembe, Porto, Sissoko, Andrews, Larouci, Giorgi) and the outcome was inevitable.

Big test for all of them now to respond with a proper performance at QPR.

Jebbison is a joke. I’m genuinely struggling to think of a striker as bad as him in my time watching the ‘Orns.

Only one team wanted it,Credit where credit is due one of our ex coaches ,had his team set up for his cup final they never stopped kicking lumps out of us pressed all over the pitch they haven't won in 9 matches , we never changed formation ,went way too attacking again from the start like wba ,only this time we didnt get away with it had no impact off the bench, porteus got torn to shredds both full backs where shocking defending and attacking ,there back 4 and goalkeeper had an easy game we didn't lay a glove on them shocking performance

Omar Riza used his knowledge wisely and made sure Andrews was targeted early on. His inability to defend was a gift to Cardiff.

Not only did Jebbison mess up the chance to score, but earlier on attempted an unchallenged header and somehow tripped over his own feet and fell over. Truly awful.

Larouchi looks uncomfortable attacking and can't pick anyone out with a cross.

"Give it to Chak" is a very limited game plan. The early goal caught the team out and we didn't get into the Cardiff penalty area until the 13th minute.

At times it was back to the misery of the Ismael days with endless passing round the back. Previously when we've done this, it's been to switch it and create a new attack, but it just became endless.

Cardiff could teach Portsmouth how to sh*thouse properly. They were controlled it and were less blatant - job well done.

Today was the type of game where Baah could have swung the game in our favour from the bench.

Sissiko has been an absolutely dreadful signing. Phoning it in on his retirement contract as his family is settled here. Awful footballer these days - I dread to think what he will “contribute” in year two of his retirement deal. Doesn’t help Cleverley is completely in awe of him and called it a signing that showed our ambition.

Some transformation - Jebbison to Jibberson to Joke-i-s-on us.

Chak finally shows some end product, in a game we just fluffed. Usually reversed.

No one has come out with much credit today. Maybe the rub of the green we have been getting is running out.

    Fiar play to Cardiff.

He's a throwback to the 90's/00's in that he is a player who has the attitude of 'pretend nothing hurts' - the complete opposite of Ebosele who was on the floor screaming at any opportunity today when we were meant to be chasing the game.

Let's not get too carried away about pollock he's as slow as a slug and today Andrews porteus and larouci had a player to mark he didn't he should of been the one to bring the ball out of the defence

That was a very bad watch. Terrible all over the field, but equally as poor off it. Cleverley got that horrendously wrong today.

Kayembe and Sissoko utterly abject, the former incapable of anything beside a backwards pass, even when given time and space to turn, while the latter was barely close enough to play to ever risk getting the ball. Dreadful.

Louza looked decent, plenty of energy and willingness to get the ball, but very little to work with in terms of options ahead of him.

Bayo completely ineffective, and gave the ball away with a mindless flick for their second.

Less said about Jebbison the better, but we can’t escape the fact his miss highlighted not only his complete lack of ability to judge a ball in the air, but also the lack of fight that’s been a sorry aspect of his contribution thus far. Oh, and the Oulare-esq (credit to UEA on the shoutbox) attempted jump/header that got nowhere near the ball and left him in a heap was a particular lowlight.

Having been able to see the highlights the Cardiff man was actually just onside - but Larouci was so slow to react he managed to receive the ball in so much space that it made things look questionable. Watching the replay Pollock was also too slow in jogging back - had he sprinted sooner he might have been able to block the cross which ended up reaching Robinson. There really were numerous errors for the goal.

I haven't seen the game. Was the second half screaming out for Baah by any chance?

His suspension for this game is a farce that I didn't think would matter too much. Obviously it did.

  22. lowerrous

He definitely was not the most at fault for the first goal.

Firstly Andrews and Vata are too powder-puff down the right flank when trying to win the ball. Porteous does indeed come too far out of position to try and help out on the right flank when he shouldn't - leaving Pollock exposed 1 vs 1 with Robinston. Louza and Kayembe are both also standing too close together on the far side in the middle of the pitch not doing much, meaning no one is helping to fill the gap.

But also then Pollock doesn't get tight enough to Robinson and leaves him with plenty of time and space to take a touch and shot.

Look at this scenario here on the first goal:

We have 6 of our players all rushed over to the far side surrounding 3 Cardiff players, leaving a huge gap behind them - and despite that, after easily shrugging off Vata, the 1 Cardiff player with the ball still manages to progress a decent distance un-tackled to get the cross in. Ridiculous. Just brainless and weak all round.

Porteous abandoning Pollock to rush out to their attacking midfielder is daft, but also that could have been Louza's man anyway but Louza is just jogging about not doing anything, either marking that man, tackling the runner, or covering the gap left by Porteous. Kayembe is also too slow to react to the fact that Vata has been beating and the Cardiff player has run beyond him. Even Chak on the near-side is also not entirely blameless, he doesn't sense the danger at all and spends the whole time walking instead of potentially getting back in to help out Larouci.

I recall flagging this when we signed him, pretty sure he was around the same level as TDB in the air, which isn't ideal when you're 6"3 or however tall he is!

We have a bottom half squad and it’s crazy that we are still 6th. There is no way we will finish top 6, probably not top 10. We don’t have the funds to strengthen, at least not to the extent of other top half clubs.
Enjoy toying with the top 6 for the next 6 weeks or so.

Well that was a disappointing afternoon.

    Static, no aggression or desire.

It seems from what’s been reported that the subs were forced onto to TC. Either way it was clear we weren’t going to get back in to the game once they weee made.

Whilst it clearly wasn’t the officials fault we lost they certainly didn’t help. How did it take four attempts before they spotted the one footed throw in’s in the first half! And the shirt pulling and time wasting that went generally unpenalised all game. Very poor.

Hugely disappointing and frustrating. Cleverley was done by his former colleague tactically. Every player put it a sub standard performance to some degree. Plenty for Clevs to think about. But i don't agree with all these comments that we are now have a bottom 6 squad, etc. I watch quite a bit of championship football, and the teams at the bottom have consistently put in performances like we did today. For us these days are not common (so far this season anyway). QPR on the 1st, let's see how we react. We normally come up with a response.

I think Cleverley got it wrong with that line up and today his substitutions were not good either. I was singing Jebbisons praises after the Portsmouth performance and wanted him to start but I am afraid there is no excuse for that miss today. He is a centre forward that desperately needs a goal at a new club to get his career going again and he gets a perfect opportunity and he bottled it because he was scared of getting caught by the goalkeeper. Absolute coward of a player. The decision to get rid of Rajovic for him is becoming more and more ludicrous, we all know Rajovic scores
that chance if he was in Jebbisons position. Nothing went right for us and we looked dysfunctional. Our unbeaten home record had to come to an end soon enough. I will be happy again if we beat QPR.

Ironically I thought Jebbison looked at his best when he was deeper getting involved with moving the ball relatively quickly compared to the stop motion efforts of a lot of the side.

I genuinely cannot fathom his lack of attempts to go for the ball aerially, it’s such a massive part of the game of a striker it’s baffling there’s just no willingness.

That and his Superman effort earlier - the less said the better.

A hat trick of poor misses for him this season, the only positive I can take from it is he’s clearly getting in the right positions but goodness me it’s absolutely atrocious to happen more than once, let alone 3 times.

I hope so too, but QPR are in decent form right now and we don't have Livermore to leather two stunners top bins to win us the game. We do however have Sissoko.... and Vata/Louza injured. If we get a point from Loftus Road I would be very happy especially off the back of this nightmare.
