I was unfortunate enough to only be able to listen to the game on radio five live, but from what i heard there we were unfortunate not to take all three points!
The substitutions made at half time seemed to turn things into our favour after the break and we had so much more of the ball and ran them ragged.
I would be interested to hear the comments from you lucky ones who made the match!!

We should have won 2-0 with all the chances we had. Henderson was a big bag of ***** tho

Managed to watch it streamed online. Japanese commentry was interesting. :)
I am begining to worry, we seem to have quality in defence but are just not able to create enough chances on goal. What chances we do get are not taken advantage of. Maybe we just need a little bit of luck, but how long can we keep waiting.

we need a good striker - the crosses were coming in but no one on the end of them. Smith and Young did well

Major Point: Corners - wot the **** was going on 2nite?

When isnt he though, I am not a fan of henderson personally, i would like to see Priskin get more of a shout, or bouazza

Bouazza certainly played well when he came on a good tactical move by Aidy. I think Henderson is playing more of a supporting role up front rather than an out & out striker at the moment, but would agree that Priskin needs more time on the pitch.

How would you see things if he was to play a 4-3-1-2 with either Henderson or Priskin supporting Smith and King in more of an attacking midfield role? would that work you think?

Not bad, but see us more of a 4321
King up front with Smith & Young supporting
Mahon BangBang & Francis in midfield swap Bang Bang for Spring at half time if we are not winning.

thats a plan, though i have never been a fan of a loan striker up front, but its certainly a possibility.
whatever happens we do need a better attacking formation than we have adopted so far this season, the goals have to start coming from somewhere.

THe way Francis is playing at the moment if the ball is coming from out wide, hopefully Ash or Tommy can hold it up long enough for him to give King some backup.

    Quality!

I was dissapointed at how many empty seats there were in the Vic end. We were right down the front so moved up a way before the end of the first half. I thought we played really well. We definately showed too much respect in the first half, and the 2 subs at halftime did indeed shake things up. Definsively I liked what I saw, Foster was immense as always, Shittu had a great game winning balls on the floor and in the air, (notice that Shittu isn't starred out ;)). I'd have made Sorrensen, (apologies for the spelling), man of the match, not only did he pull off some outstanding saves but he was solid with every ball that came over, not a single flap moment, very impressed. Have to agree with Golden Army about the corners, (and other set pieces), most un-Watford like. I guarantee they'll be working on tose this week. Like some of you I'm starting to have a few concerns about Hendo too. I know it's very important to have a rock solid defence in this league but like Lawro said on MOTD, goals will keep you in this division.

Overall we should have won, looking at the bigger picture I think we'll be OK this season. This team is learning and getting better every week, you can see it. Wigan could be the one.

I think we should have won, rookery was average! But for about 5mins during the 1st half the green team threathened to chuck everyone out who was standing up! There was about 50 of us, and these blokes infront of us stood up and started singing "WE WANT AN ATMOSPHERE!" was funny

Oh yes the infamous GREEN TEAM - they were ready to pounce in the Vic end as well

Do you find that the gamse now are too closely policed by officials and this takes away some of the atmosphere?
I remember when i first started going to games we were diwn the Vic end and there were no seats, found that better for atmosphere, you could pretty much do anything you wanted within the law and reason, now your afraid to cough for fear of being ejected.
I was at a game at chelsea with a friend who is a fulham fan and he had a hotdog, the wrapper got caught by the wind and flew out of his hand, complete accident, it found its way to the pitch and he got ejected for littering as it was spotted by an official, we found that totally unjustified and it almost caused a riot in the stand by the fulham fans who saw waht had happened.

i can understand they need to protect the crowd and players but it can go way overboard. Last nite this woman with her kid - who had a club id round her neck - complained when someone went "oh ****" wen Marlons header went over the bar and he got a right bollocking off the Green team. Its just stupid - surely she must know that there is going to be bad language wen it is 0-0 and chances are missed. Why cant she go into Upper Rous or Family area?

agreed, i for one am very passionate when i am watching the game and always swear... cant help it.

It was definatly a game of 2 halves, the first half we could of been 2 or 3 goals down but the second half we could of won by 2 or 3 goals.
The Subs made a big difference to the second half. In defence of Henderson he was doing what he was doing last season getting onto the high balls and flicking on them on for marlon, but this season Marlon seems to be more out wide and is not playing central like last season. So when Henderson flicks the ball on for marlon he is not there and it looks like that henderson is just giving the ball away all the time.

which begs the question why does he continue to do it.
Just goes to show he is very much a 2 dimensional player and not up to the premiership.
I am sure that the way we play has been looked at in training and i would hope that henderson would have realised that King isnt where he was and things are different to last season and would therefore adapt.
    this he obviously hasnt done.
I might seem critical of him but as I have previously said i dont feel he is up to the premiership.
Hopefully things will change and he will prove me wrong!

I see your point but you also got to ask the question why is King goint out wide more and not in a central role where he is more dangerous and when we get crosses in why is there no one near the back post to either hit it in or to knock it back into the centre the initial cross goes to far?

this is an issue that was raised by the commentators on radio 5 live on saturday also... it seems that we get a rush of players to the near post, sometimtes 3 or 4 players all fighting for the same spot and not spreading themselves around the area, this is certainly something that needs to be addressed, the balls are coming in from the sides and going over the top of everyone... at least 3 occassions on saturday there was a chance of a goal if there had been someone on the far post or the far end of the area.

Lets hope Aidy address this for Wigan
