Another reason Zola must go. The way he treated Vydra was disgraceful.
You're having the time of your life tonight ain't ya.
Not even in a rude way but what was your actual serious viewpoint of the game?
Newcastle played well in the first half. Deserve their lead.
This made me laugh. Lolz
Be here sooner than you think
Is he allowed to play for three teams in one season then? What's the exact rules on this?
One team was of course outside of England.
Don't think he played for Udinese competitively so it doesn't count.
He did play competitively in a Europa League qualifier. And the actual ruling is...
Players may be registered for a maximum of three clubs during the period from 1 July until 30 June of the following year. During this period, the player is only eligible to play in Official Matches for two clubs.
So yes he can join us but no he can't play for us.
EDIT: and before I get a smart arse saying what about 'so and so'; the only exception is a football league rule on emergency loans so there would have to be a major injury crisis before that exception before that rule is relevant.
If true.....thanks for ruining my day/week
Real shame, imho a hungry again Vydra+Abdi could have given us the spark we are sorely missing
Well I was using Football Manager knowledge in which Europa League registration is different to League registration
The only definition in there which I thought had a grey area was 'Official Match' and FIFA even has that one covered.
Official Matches: matches played in the framework of Organised Football, such as national league championships, national cups and international championships for clubs, but not including friendly and trial matches.
Let's face it, it can't happen.
What's the point in that rule. Who is going to sign somebody that can't play for them?
A team without any games to play. For example a team might want to sign someone on 29th June because of an advantageous clause expiring the next day.
Let's start looking for a loophole.
Not as tragic as the way this thread is still going on.
Might as well shut this thread down then.
Big threads don't help the running of the forum database, so advanced warning, this will close come the end of the transfer window.
What if we sign him ?
I agree, close this and the Smith thread now.
Time to move on.
14 minutes this evening, and got the assist for WBA's second.
And the first really hop he gets his chance now
Came on and got 2 assists today that may of got him a potential start next week.
he played a big part in their first too.
Vydra plays finally
So Vydra played for westbrom last night. Looks like he's got his pace back. Had a roll in their win as a sub. I'm actually disappointed he's back playing because I was hoping that had he not played by January, the pozzos might have cancelled his loan and got him back at Watford.
Didn't someone say he can't play for us anyway?
Why are we so obsessed with Vydra that he deserves a thread because he played 16 minutes for the team he is signed to for the year?!
I'm sure this could have gone in the ''Vydra'' thread.
The Pozzos can't cancel his loan either.
Had a big bet on evens that he would score 6 or more premier league goals this season! Thought it was a license to print money!
Backed him to be west brom top scorer as well!
Thought he would do the business in the Premier League and he would be a first regular and a fans fav by now!
How did Tommy Smith get on?
We should close this thread so that we can dedicate more forum resources to the Tommy Smith thread, which still has a chance of a happy ending.
Last night wasn't his first appearance for WBA...
In England competitive games played in foreign leagues are technically viewed as being exhibition games so he could still play for us this season yet.
