Dunno about that, we've had forwards that have either contributed little or nothing in the past. Bayo scored 9 in 19 games and he was heading for a really decent return, but sadly his form since has been poor, just 1 goal. I can't explain the poor latter half of the season. Not sure he can either.
Before Bayo scored 8 in 8 he had scored 2 in 24 He has scored 20 in over 100 matches for us If you exclude the 4 at Sheffield Wednesday that is 16 goals in 100 matches This is the explanation you require for Bayo scoring 1 goal since mid December . I.E. This is the norm . Not the 8 in 8 blip .
My Son got up and walked out the lounge as soon as he saw Bayo was starting. Even my Missus is fed up with me screaming at the TV while he pretends to be a footballer.
Only saw the first half, but he made one excellent tackle on Vata on the edge of their box, then looped in a hopeless cross, before chasing back and conceding a foul. What more could we want?
As Lou ‘Orns pointed out yesterday, he’s but one in a long list of poor signings up top over the last few years Bayo. Jebbison. Rajovic (you can argue that one among yourselves lol). Fletcher. Murray. Perica. Aruajo. Healey. King. All in the last five seasons. I think you could argue that one or two of those looked good signings on paper but sadly never worked out, and of course it needs balancing with the successes too (Pedro for example and hopefully in time Doumbia too), but it’s a fairly damning comment on our poor recruitment of strikers these last few years. @LouOrns Hope it’s ok quoting your post here. Taking a step back, have they actually bought a decent “striker” in the 13 years or so they have owned us (given they inherited Deeney & already owned Vydra, Ighalo and Fessi) ? Maybe Deulofeu, but he wasn’t really an out and out striker ? Only Pedro and Richarlison, neither were cheap, and not out and out goalscorers for us.
It looked to me as he:- he was taken off yesterday as a favour to put him out of his misery, he couldn’t wait to go off, I couldn’t understand as to why the EJ stand gave him a standing ovation as he walked round in front of them. In the second half from the rookery he looked so poor that the rest of the team gave up using him as an option. From the 1st minute ball across the goal, there were then 2 one on ones with the keeper and 2 missed headers that I recall, truly woeful!
I think it's only human nature to offer sympathy to another human being who has experienced the level of personal trauma that he did during that second half. Counselling should be arranged and treatment should include staying clear of football pitches for the next 2 months.
When he missed the open goal, Sissoko ran straight towards him. It looked as though he was going to pick him up and tell him to keep on trying. But he ran straight passed him to get the ball and stop their keeper time wasting. It felt indicative of a team that has given up on him. If TC has the stones for it he should play Massiah-Edwards up front in the next game because we know we aren't getting anything out of Bayo.
If we drop Bayo for the last few games maybe he will be less likely to agree to come back to us next season in case he's on the bench ? Drop him immediately.
I was watching Bayo and the other attacking players doing their finishing warm up . The others did left foot \right foot finish and then with a passive defender as a progression . Bayo just chipped the ball onto the coach's chest who then laid it off for Bayo to attempt a strange chest on half volley "finish" . It was very peculiar.
He isn’t a striker really and all the Under 18s will be trying to save themselves for the youth cup game on the 10th so probably stuck with Bayo.
Yep. I believe that TC should use Bayo for the remaining games only to protect Doumbia and Mass-Ed from over playing . From what little I have seen these 2 have plenty of potential but need looking after.
I'd totally forgotten about Joshua King and had to Google "which Kings have played for Watford". Came back with Marlon, Joshua and Ken Sema, which was quite impressive.

And talk of helping him doesn’t really make sense when he is off in a month . Guess with Doumbia injured there is no other option except play someone out of position again ? The under 18s lads might get more of a chance but obviously will be preparing for their Youth cup semi final over the next week .
It's more reasonable to go by what he has done this season as he was chosen to do a job as the main striker. Like I said his early season contribution doesn't make him our worst striker in over 20 years as you suggested. Some recency negativity bias has crept in as we are seeing him at his least effective, which can happen on this forum
Lol! "Recent negativity bias" When was Bayo at his most effective ? His first season when we bombed him out on loan after he scored 4 goals by end of Jan ? Last season when he amassed 6 goals ? Before the Sheffield Wednesday match when he contributed 1 goal ? Or after the 8 match\8 goal return which has seen a return to type and 1 goal since mid December? There are a significant number on here who have been banging on about Vakoun for a long time Not withstanding the transfer dealings whereby Udinese appeared to get into a bidding war with themselves . We have to hope that none of this comes back to haunt us in the future

After we aren’t able to get anyone else . And the current manager definitely likes him even if no one else does . Yes would suggest there is no money and it’s a deal to suit the Pozzos shifting money more than anything - again .
He's bobbins, not sure how anybody can say differently. I would rather only have Doumbia next season than get him back on loan. Probably a nice chap and I don't dislike him as a person but as a footballer he's dreadful. If Pozzo can't see that giving us a decent striker would have given us a realistic chance of the play offs then he's an idiot.......
I think I'd actually prefer Andre Gray over this turd, and Andre Gray really is our worst striker in the last 20 years.

I disagree Andre Gray certainly wasn't out worst striker over the last 20 years, we over paid for him, therefore a lot was expected from him every time he went on the pitch, had we paid 2 million for him would you still be saying he was the worst?
