Goals! Only my prediction, of course. Hope I’m wrong.
I don't mind the fact that we've only brought in one player. I do mind the fact that it's a sizeable deal on a bang average player that blatantly helps out the Bayat brothers.
'Feed the crow and he will squawk'?
I wish he’d fly off somewhere else
My only experience of crows is they sh-it everywhere, so it’s probably an appropriate nickname for him.
NB. Will the forum crash every time we make a signing?
And is it Mogi with a cyber attack keeping the dissent at bay?
There it is again: "All our players and everything the club does is trash - but I hope I'm wrong."
Nothing wrong with that. Tell me why do you have a problem. It is the prevailing tone in your messages.
I forgot to mention, a 5 Yr deal? Will Watford ever learn? I hope that they do. Oops, my bag. Sorry.
If you think there is the scintilla of a possibility that you might be wrong, which you obviously do, it would be prudent - not to say more palatable - to begin your pontifications from a less stridently negative standpoint.
That's this season's Perica sorted.
We are using an agent with a dodgy looking past and a not so rosey looking future handle all our transfers by the look of it yet you have a go at a fan voicing their concerns about another deal, bizarre.
By using this agent and the way he operates we get players that maybe arent 100% commited to playing for a club they maybe didnt 100% want to join which isnt a recipe for success for either the club or the players. Mogi is 100% happy every time though.
The other day you said you hoped JP didn't leave the club because you wouldn't be able to use your avatar anymore, now it's suddenly been given the chop unprompted - what happened!?!
Don't worry Fletcher will be chomping at the bit soon.
@cyaninternetdog is clearly ITK....
That’s not what I’m doing at all.
The particular poster in question takes a starting position of being consistently negative about everything to do with the club and then, by way of a skewed sense of balance, regularly throws in a phrase such as “I hope I’m wrong”.
I’m happy to debate any issue if people are prepared to be open to other points of view.
For the avoidance of doubt, I have expressed no view on the transfer deal referred to but I too have concerns over the club’s frequent use of Mogi.
I wanted so much to get excited about a new striker so I went onto the club website to read about Bayo. There is the headline "I'm here to show everyone who I am". Oh dear, do I smell something odious but all-to-familar with Watford's new signings these days? Could this be another off the production line of big-headed and high ego players? The article continues "...with an aim to show his talent in the upcoming campaign..." Surely this isn't another look-at-me player just here to make a name for himself? Nothing wrong in being ambitious and wanting to get on in life but crikey, isn't there at least a smidgeon about the team? Well, yes there is It comes as an after thought in the very last line where we get "..help the team reach the Premier League.."
For me as a fan, the last line should have been the first. I may be getting ultra sensitive after last season. Maybe I'm being negative and looking for minus signs when they're not there? Our recruitment team must be looking at a player's attitude, desire, team ethic mustn't they? Oh, I do hope so!
Someone swallowed a Thesaurus today
Never heard of him, scan read a few pages of this thread and now confidently declare him utter dog droppings.
You don't want what's next either.
They seemed to have a similar record in Belgium, but while I don't think this guy will be an outstanding Championship striker (certainly not worth £5m!), Bayo's track record suggests he at least punches his weight physically unlike Perica who unfortunately was as weak as piss
Roget and out.
Why is there only one word for thesarus?
Maybe because if there was more than one word, it would be more difficult to market the book to those who couldn't afford one to find out what the other words for it were?!
Hope he will be good.
Expect him to be ****.
Why did he introduce himself in his interview as Bayo Vakoun? That's the big question.
Crikey he’s going backwards already
The more I think about us spending £5m on this guy the more annoyed I am, the whole deal stinks
I feel bad for the player himself as well, as if he doesn't get off to a good start hes very quickly gonna become a massive lightning rod for the boo boys
You needn’t be annoyed, according to the forum experts it’s perfectly normal for a club to buy a player for £2m and almost immediately sell him for £5m, and it’s just a coincidence that Mogi’s brother was involved. It’s all standard stuff that happens at every club.
Gon 2 Udinese for €1.5m.
A good price for us according to some on here...
£7m when the correct ex rate is used. A nice little earner.
Nice (and surprisingly positive) write up of Bayo from Liam Henshaw, a football analyst and Forest fine I follow on Twitter whose content is generally excellent. His wagon wheels are a really good way of comparing players (I think I prefer them to the Statsbomb radars and they are also much nicer to look at!). You can see Bayo has really good attacking stats (shooting, goal scoring, getting on the end of high quality chances) is very decent defensively (especially with aerial duels) and is quite limited in possession - perhaps a function of his role as a penalty box striker, or Charleroi’s style of play or just his limitations as a player.
Watford look to be going in a different direction this summer following the appointment of Rob Edwards. When you look at his Forest Green side you notice how important his forward players were in his system, particularly the target man Jamille Matt.
That’s why Bayo could be important for Watford this season. We assume that Edwards will want to line up with a front two, one being a number 10 linking the play, and more of a target man. The latter is exactly what they have got in Bayo.
He appears to be a classic box striker with the addition of being mobile, and he’s a player that will do the hard work too. Bayo scored 11 goals in 19 games for Charleroi last year and Watford will hope he can translate that form to the Championship.
This guy's gonna be ****. Andre Gray from wish.com.

Two interesting contrasting views above there, both full of good reasoning and backed up with interesting facts and statistics
