Where would it go though? Presumably without humans there to monitor and balance the grid and use the electricity being produced, the whole transmission system would soon collapse. And that would probably cause feedback to where it's generated and damage/destroy them too.

 

Depends what caused the end of the world. If all houses aren't destroyed, it would be powering all the standby lights on everyone's TVs.
