True Or False

I took a quiz that popped up on Facebook by football league world about Watford kits and badges.

One of the questions was:
The year which Watford were formed in had appeared on a badge at least once. True or False.

I answered true, but this answer was deemed incorrect. In my view 1881 featured as part of our 125 year Commemorative badge during the 2006-2007 PL season. Therefore the year that Watford formed HAS appeared on our badge at least once.

Was I correct or is the answer false. Debate...

 

Pretty sure the 'other' centenary shirt in the 91-92 season also had the year on it.

 

Weirdly, it had 91-92 Centenary on it with a big wreath around the crest.

 

On a separate note, Luton fans seem obsessed with a rumour that Watford weren't founded in 1881.

Kind of pathetic on their part that they know more about this than I do but can anyone understand why they're harping on about this?

 

Frankly it barely matters whether it was 140 years or some years later, no one around then is here now.
