In all fairness to Hull they're in Europe now and will be setting there sights a lot higher than Deeney.

 

Bruce is trying to do a Redknapp but is a ****ty version of him. He's interested in both and could get either one of them.

What I'm getting at is as a football club, it's a good bargaining point to bring a high calibre of player in without throwing millions at them. Plus £12m for Shane Long is astronomical he is dreadful they can get far better abroad for that.

This shows true ambition, to turn down a bid of £12m.....which I think is fair in the current market.

Deeney's partnership with Vydra is far too important to break up and the club have realised this.

Turning down £10m rising to £12m. Wow. Statement of intent right there. And Frank Smith seems to have a good line into the club this summer so if the word coming out is that Deeney won't be sold I'd say that's as good as a quote from Gino himself.

haha. who would have thought a few years ago that we would be rejecting a £10m-12m bid for troy deeney? i certainly would not. real statement of intent from the club, if he goes now then he is certainly going for more than any of us would have ever thought possible. if things are not going to plan in january then we can sell then, but keep him for now and lets destroy norwich this afternoon.

He would have gone for £5 mil at most a few seasons ago.

I literally have goosebumps seeing this. Deeney has acted like a true pro throughout all of this and I really feel like he still feels like he owes us something.

As for the Pozzo's and Nani, what a summer. I certainly think a lot of people will be feeling a little bit silly over some comments about Nani over the last couple of seasons. I think the talent was always there to bring in but they must have felt that the players brought in in previous seasons would've been enough to see us promoted.
