I can't see Hull wanting to pair Jelavic with Deeney. Jelavic and Wellbeck would jel well though.

Disagree - Jelavic and Welbeck are too similar in that neither score very often - so if i was Bruce i would pair Jelavic with someone who knows where the onion bag is

I guess it's only Leicester now, and maybe Hull seeing as they've just sold Shane Long......even though Steve Bruce categorically said they were not interested in him.

Looks like Leicester will get Slimani. They've offered £6m and he's told his club he wants to go to the Premier League.

 

Don't believe a word of what that slippery rat 'Arry says. He thinks he is Fergie with his mind games. In his mind if he says publicly QPR are no longer interested because the price is too high we will panic and reduce the price for fear of losing the sale. He tried something similar with the Diakite loan.

 

Redknapp's negotiation skills are embarrassing.

 

When he says the price is "just a bit more than we felt we would want to pay.” it means we should drop our price by 5m as otherwise QPR won't buy.

 

That can't be his game surely. We're not Watford from 3 years ago, we're a profit making and very ambitious football club.

The owners aren't going to have a nervous breakdown because some leather faced old ******* doesn't want to buy our star player. I think they'll probably be jumping for joy.

 

How I see it

Hull - **** town, two and a half hour drive from his family, friends and new house. Can't see it happening really.

West Ham - Location is fine but just signed another striker. Not going to be them.

Leicester - Depends on Wood leaving but I can't see them spending what we want.

QPR - Depends on Remy moving, if Remy stays they won't want Deeney.


QPR is the most likely destination but not one of them is entirely convincing. As each day passes my belief he'll stay increases.

 

Where does this 'can't see him moving far away' come from? Has he said he's not willing to move to another part of the country? Moving around is part of a pro footballers life. We've had players move to us from all over the world!

 

Leicester seem to be pursuing Slimani again as well.

 

I think we should start a poll to see how much we reckon Deeney will go for on deadline day!

 

How I see it

Hull - Too dull.

West Ham - Can't afford him. Have no part exchange players we want.

Leicester - TD doesn't want to go there, insulted us with silly offers, messed us around over the part-exchanges and served up an abysmal lunch. Inevitably going down this year. They'll have to break the bank for him to go there and then throw in our pick of their squad to make up the value.

QPR - Possibly in January for £15m+ when they are in the relegation zone.

 

If there is a part in Troy's thinking, as captain, that he would like to stay out of loyalty, sense of duty to the club/fans/other players and a feeling of wanting to finish out a task (ie achieve promotion with Watford), the Pozzos will surely offer him an improved contract, which perhaps includes a buy out clause to kick in at the end of the season. This option would appear to keep everyone happy, except perhaps some desperately anxious lower end premiership teams with some cash to spend.

 

As I keep saying: Troy is going to captain us to promotion, lift the FA cup for us, captain us into Europe, and beat Luther's all time goal scoring record. That's as close to a FACT as you will see in this thread.
