Yes agreed: I think £8 million for Deeney is about right and I'm pretty sure the club would accept that.

Theoretically (if rumours are true when they could easily be *******s) we could start next season with Graham and Vydra up front with Ranegie and Forestieri as back up and quite a few million quid in the bank through the sale of Deeney.

I'm sure the Pozzos would see that as a very good piece of business.

Seen on instagram he's just got a new house built, anyone know where that is?

    Birmingham.

A lot of clubs wouldn't let him commute, and I seriously don't think he'd consider moving from Birmingham. There's a very small number of teams that could take him, they'd have to be midlands based, need a striker, and be in the Premiership.

Only really, Villa, West Brom and maybe Stoke or Leicester (can't see him there) fit the bill.

Leicester's loaded owners will probably just sign Deeney to rub it in.

Imagine it: Deeney puts Leicester out of the play-offs, Leicester rally and win the Championship the next year. Leicester sign Deeney.

    Urgh.

Obviously I'd be happiest if Deeney stayed ..... But I reckon an strike partnership of Ranegie-Vydra would do a lot of damage .

Graham and Vydra would be tasty too. Graham and Ranegie might be a bit stodgy but not bad for a back up .

If we keep Deeney and get Vydra I will literally drive to Watford and kiss Gianluca Nani.

I think we'd get more from a big spending Championship club looking at achieving promotion than we would do from a Premier league club looking to stay up. It's a complete punt for a Premier club as he's unproven at that level. Would a Premier club pay £8m cash? I don't think so. Would another club in this division pay £8m cash? I don't think so, more likely less with an additional amount if they achieve promotion. Obviously this shouldn't be accepted as it's worth more to us when we're promoted. By that logic I can't see him being sold.

Palace paid £8m for Gayle as a newly promoted Premier League club, so I can easily see a more established club paying that amount or more.

That was a purchase made out of desperation as they could not get anyone decent to sign for them.

The amount of championship teams who think they have a chance of signing him is comical. Geneiunely funny, search Troy Deeney on twitter and you'll see. Atm it's forest fans who think they're signing him, and some wolves fans.

He wouldn't even leave for another championship club.

  19. If they stump up a stupid offer I'd say Gino would consider it, but I think Deeney would say no. He will be in the prem soon enough, either with us or another team.

I'm pretty sure we wouldn't sell our best player, who has no desire to leave, to a direct promotion rival, no matter the price.

Haven't Forest just been served a winding up order? If they can't pay a £2m tax bill but have £8m lying around for Deeney then that's quite impressive. All this is irrelevant of course as it's some Forest ***** on Twitter living off past glories still.

  22. Would we accept £20m? You betcha. How about £10m? Yep. So I'm pretty sure there is a point Gino would say yes. Whether it would ever happen is another thing...

I think £8m plus would be accepted. I honestly would say, thats good business.

Newcastle,Villa and Swansea are three two big teams in for him and we cant hold him back if he wanted to go.

He has been a wonderful servant but I think we may lose this battle!

Why should we struggle to fend anybody off? The Pozzo's will only sell if the price is right, and only then if they want to :italian:

Furthermore, I would be very disappointed if we sold to another Championship side, they can :smiley-sport025:

I really don't, I'd actually be quite surprised if he leaves. Can't see anyone paying the money we'd want.

only two ways he will leave... stupidly high bid (over 10 million) or he asks for the transfer.... I cant see either happening

I also still think Sky sports think we are a minnow club that cant hold onto any players....

''What a load of bs. Norwich, Fulham, Wigan and Nottingham Forest are promotion rivals so he wont go there. Deeney is a Birmingham city fan so Aston Villa is out of the question. Newcastle is a S h i t h o l e and all of Swansea s h a g sheep.''

Just posted this on the sky sports website wonder if it will pass the moderation?

People are kidding themselves quoting 7m and over. All players have a price and we'd do well to get 5m-6m which is his realistic sale value

It's true, people (including the media) still think we're a pushover in the transfer market. Forest fans on Twitter reckon they'd get him for £2m!
