Not many teams park the bus at the Vic. Not yet, anyway

It's only logical because they haven't bought much. I'd say it's more illogical based on Ashley's interview where he clearly says they can only spend what they generate - can't see Newcastle generating £20-£25m in the next week. I reckon Troy will likely stay but if he does go, I'd put my money on WBA.

Latest Tw@tter rumour is that Derby are interested in getting Troy on loan to team up with you-know-who.

    Obviously this won't happen.

Derby have just bought Lawrence haven't they? Not to mention William Franklin,Nugent and probably others I don't know.
They seem to be acquiring forwards like Arthur Daley orders VAT!

Cant see Troy going in this window..if he does we arent going to sell to another Prem team unless its a top 8 team. Why risk selling him to the likes of Newcastle when he could score the goals that could get another team out of trouble. Anyway looking at the body language of Troy and the rest of the squad no one wants to be left out. Which is good. If a striker was to leave it will be Okaka IMO

Long term if Silva is successful I can see Troy being eased out. We want to play with pace and for all Troys attributes raw pace isn't one of them. Look at the running Gray did Sat, Troy just cant make those runs.

I can only see him leaving us for two clubs, West Brom and Leicester. Cant see any team going in for him other than those two.

If he stays with us for a while, he might finish his playing days at Brum.

If someone comes in for him with a half decent offer I suggest we take it. From today's performance we are a worse team with him in the side. Sell him buy a good quality solid central defender to play alongside Prodl and a decent left back to cover for Holebas as he will miss games throughout the season and BM is not ready.

In his defence, he's coming back from an injury so off the pace is normal at this stage.

Deeney left before the start of last season. That bloke who looks like him upfront was just the groundsman inspecting the pitch.

Some truth in that. The Deeney who was such a leader would never have turned up so out of shape last year with not much of an improvement this year

Didnt go last night, did he look bulky again ?

His tweeted pictures of him in pre season before injury , he looked back to his lean best.

    I thought he looked fine.
He was just lacking sharpness, having missed pre season.

Best shape he's been in for years. Just the extreme lack of imposing himself on the game in any way which was worrying.

I'll forgive him because he's Troy and unlike the backstabbing traitors round here, will not give up on him.

To be fair, he looked reasonably trim. A vast improvement on the start of last season.

Also, to be fair, he was no more immobile or ineffective than he was at the start of last season either.

If he stays, then looking at the supply lines we seem to be building, alongside a more positive system, he will have every opportunity to show us he is good enough striker for us. There will be no excuses. Personally, I think we can do better, but I will be delighted if he proves me wrong and knocks in 20 goals this season.
