I don't get the problem...the squad is already pretty big! Does it really matter the loans aren't permanent? Even if they go elsewhere at the end of the season we'll get other players from the Pozzo pool. Even if they were 'ours' and got sold at the end of the season the money wouldn't be guaranteed to be spent on us. Keep the faith
My only concern from this window was our inability to shift any of the deadwood hanging around the squad. Only a couple out on loan and a couple of contracts cancelled. All in all though that's a pretty decent problem to have!
I heard the FA are giving us an extension on the transfer window as they know nothing happens on a Thursday!
Aleast we aren't Forest, had a medical and all for Boyd then the owners pull the plug. Got this from their forum: 'A couple of big tele's and Fawaz tweeting every now and then aside, things are no better than under Doughty. I think we've been well and truly hoodwinked here. ' Sound familiar? EDIT: Rumours that McCleish has quit as result
I didn't think things were bad enough to make them go out of business to be honest. They haven't even entered administration yet.
I think the biggest news was the failure of Zola to get Smith in. I had heard it was a done deal, but something must have gone wrong. I will try and find out what happened, as it was "in the bag" according to my reliable informers.
Danny Graham would never have gone anywhere other than the North East. He has some personal problems that he thinks would be best dealt with nearer his family and friends. So it was always going to be Sunderland or Boro. Funny also how George Boyd had his move to NFFC cancelled because of an inconclusive eye test. How short sighted of them.
Everything I've read and heard on the radio supports the view agents are behaving like a bunch of total ca hunts. We will never know if the club tried to transfer a few loans over or sign a few new players, or what the agents were demanding. Edit. I mean Wtf was Vydra's agent doing talking almost daily to the media about Vydra having so many offers? Nothing more than stiring the pot to see what deals he could do. Total ferking ca hunt. What we should all be overjoyed about is the Pozzos, Nani and Duxbury are not going to waste money buying players we don't need and can't afford, and the club continues forward well managed and delivering quality football sustainably. This has been an excellent transfer window for Watford.
He's not done badly for Peterborough with a dodgy eye then! Would be Premiership class if he had decent eyesight.
George Boyd to WFC? Can't see it happening myself. Eye think he would only be a back up if he came here.. one of Pudil's pupils if you will.
