Your ‘one-stop’ thread for the (lack of) thrills and spills on deadline day. Thought I’d create this rather than have loads of new threads being started tomorrow if anything actually does happen.

Hope you’re all tucked up by midnight tonight ready to have a long day of probable disappointment tomorrow....

 

Tomorrow I think Watford will officialize Marvin Zeegelaar and maybe loan from liverpool's markovic .. I do not think there will be either a goalkeeper or a central defender

 

Barcelona now saying Vermaelen is staying as 4th CB.

 

It's strange how there have been plenty of rumours for all positions but none for CB since pre season.

Perhaps Silva thinks our current roster are good enough, although I'm not sure why.

 

In an ideal world I'd like to see us sign:

- GK
- CB
- LB
- ST (need another striker with pace, not sure Deeney or Okaka are going to suit our style of play all that well and at least one of them could well go)

I expect however that we will only see a left back come in, that being this Zeegelaar guy, who looks and sounds decent enough.

 

Nice idea but it's like herding cats trying to control people's postings in the Transfer Section. I look forward to reading this thread and the many others duplicating the same information!

 

Looks like we can rule out Andrea Rannocchia as a potential arrival tomorrow. He's definitely staying at Inter according to some bigwig in the corridors of power there...

Definitely take your point. Was kinda hoping people would put who they want to sign/leave in the ‘hopes/expectations’ thread and just use this on the day for any breaking news really!

But can definitely accept it’s unlikely to work!

 

Clearly Okaka is going. Loans for Mason and Success. Dje Dje gone before he joins the Paredes 'crikey he's still with us?' club. Pants goes if a new GK is coming. Some back up pace up top and if Gino really wants to push the boat out a deal for a CB. Ideally one without either an injury or a tendency to try and maim flying French wingers. I expect it to be a busy day. You never know we might go in for an Arsenal bargain or two.

We are so short of rumours at the minute... Is it all done or are Gino and Co. Leaving it late?

No last minute loan deals planned for Doucoure this time at least!!

 

Strange and extremely worrying. All are injury or suspension-prone and none are exactly brilliant. However we did get the best signing of the window in Chalobah, so I'm pretty happy.

Seemingly could be a window of two halves - a great start but ending by reverting to type and buying players not good enough for Udinese and an average LB that no one had heard of.

Looking at what teams are adding around us, I think we have been caught up again in terms of how successful this window has been.

This Udinese thing is beginning to become like draining a swamp. We are better than them now and their squad looks to have no real quality left within it.

 

Never doubt the Pozzo's, only a few weeks back the bed wetting brigade were crying about how we were doomed and relegation was certain.

 

OK but -
Apart from Chalobah and law and order and the education and legal and monetary systems and stability and sanitary living conditions and roads and peace and civil harmony, nothing happens/what have the Pozzos done for us on a Thursday?

 

We are addressing what needs addressing. Cheap back-up for Holebas; personally I think Holebas is great. New first choice keeper; Karnezis is extremely experienced. A cheap/free cover at CB; Wague is hardly going to set the world alight but he should be better than Mariappa. Markovic could come in, provides much needed cover on both wings for Carrillo and Richarlison. Prefer Pereyra behind the striker which is why I thought we needed another winger.

 

We ARE doomed and relegation IS certain. Merson has said we are staying up.

Forestierri seen in Watford Tesco - probably stocking up on snacks before his Fulham medical - but some hope for his loyal supporters in the WD postcode areas.

 

Looks like we are going to need Gray's goals this season with nothing looking likely to happen in the heart of defence of any note.
